Bento Mania!

This all started back a couple weeks before school started this fall.  A friend of mine in the ward was ordering some nifty little lunch boxes from EasyLunchBoxes.com.  I decided to go ahead and order a pack (of 4) of them for the girls lunches for school.  I then became fascinated with Bento style lunches. I quickly got my friend Tamara interested in them and from there we went crazy!  :)  We got a big group of people together so we could order some cheaper bento supplies online...We got some super fun stuff, but I was still obsessed with having more.  So I sent an email to Ayaka (our most recent Japanese student) because I knew she had the best access to the goods!  And she was soooo super sweet and sent us a big box packed with bento supplies!  This box came today!
And this is what is was full of!  It was seriously like Christmas going through all of this!

Here are some pictures of the bento lunches that I have made for the girls!  I will also be adding some links to my favorite bento blogs to the right, so make sure you check those all out too!!  It's fun and addictive and the kids really like it!

the bubbas turn 2

Sniff Sniff  Is it really true that my baby boys are TWO?  It can't be...it has gone by way. too. quickly!  :(
To celebrate the big day we invited all the family over for some cake and ice cream, and being the toy story fanatics that they are, we had a toy story party of course!  Here are the cakes I made for their big day!  I was going to put a cute buzz and woody figure on top of the cake, but I couldn't find them, so they got aliens instead.  Still super cute!

My parents gave the boys this cute little toolbench.  They love it!
Papa sure loves the little bubbas!
Tools!
Time for some cake!  Happy Birthday to you...

It was a good night!  The boys loved all of their gifts, and apparently I didn't get any other pictures of them.  But there was lots of we had some super happy bubbas!  Here's to another year cute boys!  Love you lots!

New Quilts

Today we got an unexpected package in the mail.  I was so excited to see what was in it once I saw that it was from my Grandma.  She makes the best quilts, and the kids all love getting them!!  Today they were for the boys...aren't they so cute?  When I laid them out on the floor to show them to the boys they immediately ran and starting laying, playing, rolling around on them.  Thanks so much, Grandma!  They are a big hit, and the only blankets the boys will sleep with other than their silky blankies!  :)

Date Night

They don't seem to happen very often, but this date night was sure needed!  Dropped the kids off at the in-laws, and headed off to a yummy dinner at Bella Citta.  It was a cute little Italian Bistro.  Check out my hot date...phone in hand of course, I do believe he was posting a picture a me (his hot date) on Facebook!
Started off with some amazingly delicious tomato basil bisque soup.  Mmmm!

 Followed by a yummy panini
 And of course some gelato!
Soooo  many flavors to choose from!

After dinner we went to Old Navy to exchange some shirts for the boys and I ended up scoring a swimsuit for $2 for our upcoming anniversary weekend away!!

Sometimes...

Sometimes it's nice to get flowers...even if they really are just a handful of pretty weeds that were picked on a scout activity just because.
Love you, Joshy!!  :)

Utah State Fair 2010

The kids (the girls anyway) always look forward to going to the state fair every September.  We have done it every year since Jeni was a year and a half (2003) so this was our 8th time going!!  It gets quite repetitive, but it's worth it for the kids to have fun!  Usually we go up to Josh's work and pick him up, go get some dinner, and then enjoy an evening at the fair.  But to save some $ this year I made these delicious chicken sandwiches and some fries and we ate those at Josh's work before heading to the fair.  Not much to write about, so enjoy some pictures of our family fun!
(the girls were a little bummed that they have outgrown the wagon and the boys now get it)

(playing in the dirt...what boys do best)

(it's tradition to be measured here every year...so fun to see how we have grown...well...the kids anyway)

(and we always have to get cotton candy...the boys like feeding it to us more than to themselves)
