Poor Kiki!

Before I tell you about our eventful night I have to first share a cute story!

I feel like I have been feeling the babies more since I have been taking these pills...since my uterus isn't contracting all the time. Anyways, I have been feeling elbows, hands, feets, you name it!! The girls love to watch my belly get all distorted and poked out funny. So Kiki was sitting here with her hand on my belly and she got a big kick. A second later she said "Mom, was that baby B?" It was so funny because we don't really refer to them as baby A and baby B to the kids, mostly I just use that on the blog when I know positions and weights and stuff. Anyways, it was really cute. I told her it was baby A.

I guess I could share my sad story too...the bad thing about having a kid old enough to use phonetics to try and write out words, well enough that it totally made sense and I wanted to cry. Long story short, Jeni was supposed to come straight home from her friends house and she never showed up, I sent to Josh to find her, and he made her come home. She was very upset. She had gone to grandma's house and changed into a nice dress of Alicia's and then went back to her other friends house. She lied to me and said the dress was not Alicia's, ok this is turning into a long version. She was really mad at me and was freaking out in her room. Usually when she is upset she will draw a picture of her crying and then draw my head, daddy, kaitlyn, all with a big X in them because she's mad at us. This time I got a lot more than that. She brought me out the folded up paper and when I opened it I saw more than the usual picture. It also said I don't like my mommy, and I don't like my mommy in my room. I was so sad. Later we talked about it and she apologized and said she didn't mean it, and then quickly asked "but didn't I do a good job at writing?" lol

And now for my sad Kiki story. Last night while Josh was making dinner she drank a big glass of orange juice and then started saying she was full and didn't want to eat. Minutes later she was asleep on the couch. Josh put her in bed and we were watching a movie. At midnight she came out and blew her nose. Went back in her room and came back out with new Pajamas and asked Josh to help her put them on. He asked her if she threw up, i guess he could smell it on her breath. She said yah, a little on my pillow. He went to check and it was all over her bed. Poor thing. Between then and about 4:30 this morning she threw up 4 or 5 more times. I felt so bad for her, and the fact I just had to lay there and do nothing. Sad, but it was kinda nice to not have to deal with cleaning up puke for the first time ever!! :)

One Day Down...

Greetings! :) I am surviving and have made it through 1 day on the couch! Things are going okay! I'm trying to get things figured out with help and trying to make a schedule and stuff. Josh brought home his old laptop from work...it's nice...but it's not a mac! :( I am such a mac addict, it's hard to use a pc, but I won't complain because it's better than nothing!

Today Josh stayed home from work. He got up and got Jeni off to school, she rode bikes with grandma and Alicia to school today. I think she was pretty excited about that! I drove up to the hospital to get my 2nd betamethasone shot and Josh took Kaitlyn to the dr because she's had a nasty cough for a couple weeks now! The shot sucked, didn't hurt as bad as the first one, and I also found out I was getting a double dose in each one, makes sense...2 babies...double the amount!

I got some info on how this bedrest thing works! I forgot to ask yesterday! The nurse said I don't have to be on my side all day laying, she said I can sit with my feet up as long as I am reclined. So here I sit, chilling on the couch with this sweet laptop! Besides, they said it's not good to lay all day, it's better to switch positions and keep the blood circulating! Good to know! I can get up to use the bathroom, shower, simply to take care of myself. No housework, no lifting at all, no cooking. It'll be a hard adjustment, but we have lots of help, so it shouldn't be too bad!

I don't know what else to write! This is probably boring enough! Guess I just wanted to let you all know that I am surviving so far! :) I'll keep you all posted! Have a happy friday!

32 Weeks!!

Alright folks...I don't know how much  you'll see of me in the next little bit unless we concoct some way to put my computer next to the couch or I get a laptop!  lol

Here's an update of todays events:

I went to the dr for another ultrasound and appt.  The ultrasound was great!  Babies are still growing...nearly identical in size!  Baby A is still head down, waaaay down there and he measured 4lb 9oz.  Baby B is still very breech up in my ribs and he measured 4lb 8oz.  So the babies are growing great and everything is good!

Then I got in with the dr and he was debating whether or not he wanted to do a pelvic exam or not to check to see if I was dilating.  He decided to do it, and to my surprise (and his) I am already dilated to 3cm and 60% effaced.  Holy Crap!  Not now!  It's way too soon!  I need to keep this boys in here for another 4 weeks, ideally!  So, everything was pretty much a whirlwind after that.  He put me on strict bedrest...which will be the hardest part, with the girls and all.  But luckily I have so many people around willing to help me.  So he wants to laying down all the time (I had to get up to go potty, so I figured I'd hurry and update you all).  Anyways, then he told me he wanted me taking Turbutiline pills every 4 hours during the day (they relax the uterus and stop contractions).  Then he told me I need to get the beta/steroid shot on my way out and then I need to come back in 24 hours to get the 2nd dose.  This, in the words of the nurse, is a miracle drug and helps the babies lungs to hurry and be developed.  So I went out to the nurse and she told me to go back in the room because I get the shot in my butt!  Yay for me!

Turns out it wasn't really in my butt, just on my hip and HOLY COW that baby burns!  And it is very tender to the touch!  So he is confident that as long as I am flat on my back that we can make it to 36 weeks!  I am so not ready for these babies to come, I feel like I have so much left to do!  :(

My mother in law said she would come clean up in the mornings for me so I don't have to worry about the house and she'd bring me lunch, and then I'm sure we'll be having a slew of dinners coming in from people in the ward.  A great thing about the church!  I feel very emotional because I feel so helpless and bad that I can't take care of my kids!

My (awesome) friend Tamara came over when I got home.  She had picked up my pills for me, which was a huge help, and she got lunch for us at Bajio.  After we ate she did my dishes and swept and mopped the floor!  Thanks so much Tamara!  You are awesome!  Oh, and she brought me a bedrest survival kit with magazines and coloring stuff!!  I'm so spoiled!

Alright, I better get back on the couch and find a movie to watch or something.  I'm bored!  I'll update when I can, and maybe when I get up again to use the bathroom I'll have one of the kids hurry and snap a 32 week belly shot!  :)  Oh, and for the record, I measured 43 cm!  YIKES!!!!

31 Weeks (a little late)

Alright, it's time for another belly shot!  This was taken last Friday @ 31 weeks.  I'm only a few days behind in posting it, but at least I'm doing it now, right?  I go to the dr this Thursday for another ultrasound and check up.  Then I go weekly!  This is getting fun!
The nursery is finally starting to come together!  Last friday the room changed from yellow to white (primer) and then today I ran to walmart and when I came home the painting fairy was here and the room was blue.  She's coming back this afternoon to do a final coat, and I loooove the color!  Once it's done and the furniture is back in place I will take some pictures!  Who is the painting fairy, you may ask?  It's my wonderful mother in law who offered to paint the nursery for me, because with how much Josh is at work and my lack of doing pretty much anything these days, it was never going to get done!  I am so excited to have the room ready!  I still feel like there is so much to do and get!

Anyways, Saturday was my brother Guy's 30TH Birthday!  He was pretty ticked that nothing big was going on for his big day.  His wife had planned a big surprise party for him up at my parents house!  He had no idea, it was great!  He was about to sit down and start talking to my oldest brother and Josh and my mom and sister in law kept yelling at him to go into the other room...it took a few tries, and when he finally walked in and saw lots of his friends and family he jumped!  One of his favorite things is bread dip.  That's what I was asked to take.

Last Easter I made a bread bunny and put bread dip in the belly, I ran to the store to grab something and when I came back it was GONE!!  Apparently it was a hit.  When we went to the Dinosaur park this summer Guy suggested I make a bread dinosaur and the dip, it turned out good.  So I was asked to make a bread 30 this time and it was completely devoured.  Here is the birthday boy with it!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUY!My mom pulled out balloons for the kids and I thought it was hilarious that my niece Paige and Jenica were walking around with them in their shirts.  I have a picture of me and Jeni and Kiki with stuffed shirts, but mine didn't turn out good, so I will post it as soon as I can get my mom to email it to me!
And now a totally random picture for your enjoyment.A VERY lop-sided belly (although this is nothing new for there boys).  Baby B is always hunched out all crazy.  I had been laying on my side and when I rolled over onto my back it looked crazy.  So I took a picture!  Anyways, it's homework time with Jenica!  The fun stuff we get to do when our kids are in school!  It's fun to read with her though!  She's doing very well!

First Day Of School!

Ok, so the first day of school was on Monday and I'm a few days behind getting these pics up, but better late than never, right??  So onto the pictures!  Sunday night I told Jeni to go pick out what she wanted to wear the first day.  Next thing I know she is laying out her complete head to toe outfit in the family room on the floor!  (She has done this every night as well).  Anyways, what you can't see is her underwear that are hidden under her pants.  I love the shoes and socks at the bottom and the headband on top!  :)
I decided I would show you all her pictures from the first days of Preschool and Kindergarten!
I can't believe how much she has grown up!  It's just crazy to me that she is already in first grade, on her way to turning 7!  Where does the time go??
Here is a full body shot to show her stylin' outfit she picked out!
I was so proud of myself...I didn't cry when I dropped her off.  I thought for sure that I would!  Here she is with her new teacher!
And here she is sitting all proud at her new desk!  Which is a big step up from Kindergarten...they just sat at big tables!
She has been loving it!  I thought I would hate having her gone all day, which I kinda do, it's a little sad, but it's been soooo very nice.  Kaitlyn is so easy going and doesn't ask for much (except for food).  She just plays the computer or downstairs with her toys and she's happy.  I love not having to argue with arguing kids!  Makes my day a lot less stressful!

UPDATE on how I am feeling:  CRAPPY!  lol  The dr told me to take it easier.  I have been, he said to make sure I am down for at least 12 out of 24 hours in a day.  I have been.  Plus lots lots more!  I hate to complain, I'm only going to get bigger and more uncomfortable, but I am in a lot of pain.  Walking/standing has become very difficult!  It really sucks!  I am not sure if it's ligament pain or if it's my pelvis!  I just know that all I want to do all day is lay on the couch and take naps!  :)  So after complaining about my lack of mobility I find it funny that I plan on running a (very) few errands today, to pick up paint and a few things we've needed from Target.  Josh's mom keeps offering to paint the nursery for me, so I'm going to let her, just means I have to go get the paint!  At least at target I know they have those scooter cart things, I'll have to use one of those, either that or Tamara is going to have to push me around in a cart!  lol

Tonight we are going to a SL Bee's game for Josh's work!  The girls have never been to a baseball game, and there is going to be a big pre-game dinner/bbq at the field!  Should be fun!  As long as I always have somewhere to sit!  :)  Alright, I feel like I am rambling!  Ciao!

a little at a time...

Things are slowly starting to come together!  Yesterday I got thecribs ordered.  Same crib as I posted below, but I went with a different finish.  I went with Hickory instead of Cherry because I thought it would match the dresser and bookshelf that I already have for the room!
So my plans for this week are to get my paint (although I can't paint the room myself, i've had plenty of volunteers) and buy the bedding (as soon as I get my $ transfered over from paypal).

With all the big stuff bought now (minus 1 more crib mattress) I can focus on the small stuff.  I don't even know where to start!!

My baby starts FIRST GRADE tomorrow!  I can't believe it!  I will post pictures from the eventful morning!  :)

Whoa, Baby!!

30 WEEKS!!!!  I can't believe I am already this far...I'm in the home stretch and I know it's going to fly by and I am FREAKING OUT!  Thanks to my wonderful photographer Kaitlyn for the great belly shot!  I am HUGE!

Okay, so today I had my dr appt.  30 Weeks...Measuring 40cm!  That is just crazy!  It'll be fun to see the numbers climb in the coming weeks!!  So I am the size of a full term mama carrying ONE baby!  And to think...I still have 7-8 weeks!  I'd prefer to say 6 more weeks, but they hope for 37/38, so I'll go with that and not get my hopes up!
My blood pressure was great (110/75) and no protein in the urine, so things are looking great!  I go back in 2 weeks for an ultrasound and appt and then back the week after that for a non-stress test and appt, which will then be a weekly ritual until the babies are here!  Fun for me!  Luckily Jenica will be in school all day and I just need to find somewhere for Kaitlyn to go for a few hours each week!  That makes it a little easier!  Did I mention that I am freaking out?  I am getting really scared, thinking about how close this really is!!  And for your viewing pleasure, here is a siggy I made for a message board, since I've never had one...but I thought you'd like seeing my belly grow since I found out we were having 2...back at 18 weeks!  Can't believe it's been 12 weeks since then!  I think you can click on it to make it bigger...if not, then click this link here!
And lastly, since they STILL don't have my nursery set online, I took a picture...in the package is the dust ruffle and you can kinda see what the set looks like in the picture...the stuff behind is flannel receiving blankets, which I bought to make a valance and lamp shade cover out of.  That's the order I am going to put them in, but the brown polka dot will probably be a little thinner...haven't made any real plans for it yet, so it's just folded and laid out on the dresser!  I have an auction ending on ebay today (a HUGE lot of creative memories stuff) and it's over $200...once that is finished and I get my money, I'm off to buy the crib sets!  And then my mom, or Josh's mom, or Josh for that matter will paint the nursery!  I want to have it all done before they get here, but I don't know if it'll happen for sure!  :(The dr didn't put me on bedrest or anything...but he does want me taking it as easy as possible!  He said he wants me off my feet for at least 12 hours out of a 24 hour day.  No lifting, no vacuuming, no hauling laundry around, no moving furniture (well duh)!  I know I have been doing too much still, so I need to try really hard to be better!  And stay well hydrated!  Dr's orders!  Anyways, I'm hungry, guess I should find something to eat!  Ciao!

finally...

Yesterday we finally did some baby shopping!!  I am feeling a little more prepared for the arrival of my little guys!  But we still have more to get!  The plan was to go to BabiesRus and get everything because of their "twin discount".  I had looked at a
bunch of stuff online and had an idea of what I wanted, only to get to the store and be completely disappointed!  None of the carseats they had online were in the store, they had the carseat we wanted, I just didn't like any of the prints.  I decided to just get the cribs, and quickly discovered that they only had expensive cribs in the store.  I would've just ordered online, but they charge $50 PER CRIB for shipping.  What a joke.  Anyways...I was looking to spend about $150 on each crib, but when the cheapest I could find was $300 I was upset.  So upset I cried about it!  (go figure...)
And it was on sale for $40 off...so that made it even better!  :)  You know me...always looking for a deal!  I know it's a little early for this, but we also picked up 2 high chairs!  They were on sale as well and I love the pattern/style, so why not?  The blue thing hanging down from it is an extra chair pad.

Target has a horrible selection of infant carriers, they had 1 style in store...the rest you have to purchase as a combo set with a stroller.  Kinda a bummer because I really liked the print of the pack'n play and high chairs, but we didn't need 2 single strollers.  Luckily we already have a double stroller.  So we headed over to Burlington Coat Factory because my friend said they also offer a 10% "twin discount".

Let me just say, that place was such a dive!  I'm surprised we even walked back to look at the baby stuff...we should've just went back to the car.  But I'm glad we didn't...because we found another good deal!  Their carseats were $20 cheaper than babiesrus, plus we got 10% off...here's what we ended up with.  I wanted the blue one with dinosaurs, but they were sold out, plus the green of this matches the stroller we have.
And now all we need are the cribs and a mattress!!  And then the bedding basics and binkies and clothes and probably about a million diapers.  lol  I read that the average set of twins goes through 800-1200 diapers in the first 60 DAYS!  That's crazy!  Oh, and here's the crib I have picked out!  I have been looking for the best price/cheapest shipping online and I have finally found it!  I have my eye on one other crib, but I think it's going to end up costing more, so this is probably what we'll end up with (minus the pink bedding)!
Alright, sorry to bore you with all my shopping fun!  :)  I hope this week goes fast...Tuesday is enrichment, Wednesday is my dr appt, and Thursday my awesome friends are throwing me a baby shower!  I am soooo excited!!

A couple more pages...

And something totally random!  Today I took the girls to the eye dr to get their eyes checked!  Both did great, and although they are both a little far sighted, the dr said it will correct itself!  Which kinda makes the $40 in co-pays seem like a waste, but at least now we have a starting point for the next time they get their eyes checked so we'll know if it is getting better or worse.  Anyways, Jeni was in the chair and the dr was asking me some questions.  He asked "does she have any allergies or headaches?"  I said no and not a second later Jenica blurts out "Kaitlyn has diarrhea."  I burst out laughing!  Totally random, and totally not true.  My first thought was, I have to blog about this...lol...It was really funny!!

And on another note...last week we got our taxes...WOOHOO...and even better...today I was surprised with our stimulus check!  An even bigger WOOHOO!!! :)  Now I just need to make some decisions about what I need to get for the babies and then we'll make the big trip to BabiesRus!  They have a twin discount...10% off...not the greatest, but when you are spending hundreds of dollars, every bit helps!  So far I know we need cribs, a mattress (luckily we still have 1), and carseats.  A girl in my ward had twins almost 2 years ago and she said I can borrow some stuff!  Even if I just get a bouncy chair from her, that will save us $50!  I need to bring in the swing from the garage and get it all cleaned up!  I FINALLY found the bedding I want!  And for a reasonable price!  It's at Target, they don't have it online yet...otherwise I'd show you!  I have some stuff on ebay for sale and once that sells next week I will use that money to go get the bedding!  Then I will get my blue and brown paint and get crackin!  Anyways, I am going to lay down for a bit...I'm exhausted!  Surprise!  More later!!

Scrappin'!!

Wow!  I haven't scrapbooked forEVER!  I did some housework this morning, as much as my body could handle...and then I decided to make a couple pages.  SO this afternoon I did these pages of Jeni's first day of Kindergarten!  I am sooo happy with how they turned out!
credit for these pages: I used the Back 2 School kit from Shabby Miss Jenn.  The push pins and staples are from the Delightful Alphas by Gina Marie Huff over at Weeds and Wildflowers.  You can find links to these websites in my scrapbooking links to the right.

Then tonight I decided to make a page for Kaitlyn so she didn't feel left out!  I love these pictures from last halloween, she was the cutest little skunk!

credit for these pages:  Paper, ribbon, bow and flower are from the Eat Drink and be Scary kit from Weeds and Wildflowers.  Frames and black gingham  bow are from the Birthday Wishes kit by Shabby Miss Jenn, Lace is from Shabbyful kit by Shabby Miss Jenn, Letters are from the Loosely Labeled Alpha kit from Katie Pertiet at Designer Digitals, and the word tags are from the Loosely Labeled kit, also by Katie Pertiet.

I think that covers it!  I just wanted to show off my cute pages, I was proud that I got some done finally!  I have become an obsessive collector of cute kits and stuff, and I never use them!  I think I am going to make  myself make a page using each kit I have before I let myself buy anymore (not that I need anymore)!  I did notice one mistake with my halloween page.  I put a label that says cousins on Jeni, Kaitlyn, and Alicia.  I need to  change it to one that says Family or something, because for some reason I thought they were cousins...they aren't...Alicia is the Aunt!  Anyways, I don't know what else to write about!  I am getting larger...it's fun!  I can't wait to see how big I get!  lol  I feel like I am in the homestretch...unfortunately this is when I will do most of my growing!  Yay!  :)  Ciao!
