all caught up...

So yesterday I spent some time getting caught up since I last posted in August!  Here is a list of all the new posts I have, since they won't really show up as being new since I back-dated them.  Sorry for the confusion...this was for my own journal-keeping purposes!  Click on the following links or you can just go back through the pages!  :)

Merry Christmas!

Prepare for picture overload...you have been warned!  :)

Christmas Eve - We had Josh's parents over.  We watched Despicable Me, made homemade pizza, made sugar cookies for the girls to decorate.  It was fun.  And of course we got new jammies!  Here are the boys modeling theirs...Julian in Red, JonJon in Blue.
This is the best I could do of the 4 of them together...
 The girls goofing around.
After we put the boys to bed the girls decorated sugar cookies for Santa with Alicia.
Kiki picked out and laid on each individual sprinkle to make her cookie quite detailed...
Jeni just dumped them all over hers.
Dang, it's sideways...but here are santas cookies.
We went through a lot of Sprinkles.
Totally forgot to get carrots for the reindeer so they got fruit loops...surprisingly, they ate them all!
The girls were off to bed and I got everything set up while sick Josh slept on the couch.  He was miserable...he had something nasty!
Christmas morning we slept in until almost 9 and then I kinda was loud to wake them up.  hehe  I was excited for them to see all their presents!  Here are the boys chilling in our room waiting for us all to be ready to head out!
 The girls are so excited!!
We always hold the kids back and get a picture of them running down the hall to see the presents!  Julian didn't like that so much and we had a full on fit!
So here are 3 kids ready to head down the hall!
The boys got a toy story hot wheels track from Santa that they loved!
BUZZ!  The boys were soooo excited!
Jeni got a baby doll!  (in the background you can see a cute doll bed, there are 2 of them, that Josh built, thanks to ana-white.com  They turned out perfectly...I just need to paint them and finish the bedding now!!)
 Kiki got a baby doll!
The boys were so much fun this year...they loved unwrapping stuff!
Josh was the designated de-boxer!  Here is JonJon waiting patiently for Buzz so he could play with him!
We gave the girls our old ipods, they were pretty excited about that!
and Kaitlyn got the pillow pet that she wanted oh so bad!!
And Jeni really likes Alice in Wonderland lately and wanted and Alice Pookalooz.
Everyone got ornaments, I only managed to get a picture of Josh with his new airplane!
While I was cooking breakfast I had 2 naughty boys sneaking cookies!!
That afternoon we went up to my parents house to spend Christmas w/ my family.  We had a visit from Santa...he was quite...umm....interesting.
 Julian...so not a fan of Santa...haha
We didn't even make Jonathan get on his lap...

Then we opened gifts...I made these cute aprons for my sister in law and niece.
Kiki got a cute kitty hat and gloves that she loved because she's "cocoa kitty"
This is all we got of the boys in their costumes for the nativity...then they threw themselves screaming on the floor wanting them off before we began!
Jeni was Mary this year...so Josh was the donkey!

All the kids after a wonderful perfomance of the nativity minus the bubbas!
And me and my sickly love.  I promise he had a good time.  Even though he spent the entire next day in bed.  Here we are almost a week later and he still isn't feeling all the way better!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy new Year as well!  Here's to a wonderful 2011!!

crazy for cakes!!

So if you know me, you know that my 2 latest obsessions have been sewing and cupcakes.  I have had a few orders for cakes lately and that makes me soooo happy!  So I am here to share with you all some of my latest work!  And if you need cupcakes or cakes for anything...please please keep me in mind!  Cupcakes start at $1/each (24 minimum) and 6" fondant cakes start at $25!  On to the pictures!!

Cake for my friends birthday!  Red Velvet cake w/ cream cheese frosting, covered in fondant.

Red Velvet Cupcakes for a comfort food contest at Josh's work....what's more comforting than cupcakes?  Fondant leaves on top, oh, and cream cheese frosting!
Strawberry cupcakes, buttercream polka dot frosting!  These turned out darling!
STAR WARS CAKE...oh  my...this one was soooo scary for me, but ended up bing one of my favorites!  Chocolate cupcakes, buttercream frosting, and fondant light sabers.

The top turned out better than I could have hoped for and the birthday boy looooved his cake!!
Red Velvet cupcakes...they're supposed to be christmas trees!
More christmas tree cupcakes, these I made for my moms birthday!
and LEGOS!  I am so in love with these!  I made the legos out of rice krispie treats and covered them in fondant and used a straw to punch out the little bumps on the legos.  Genius!

These were for a little Alice in Wonderland tea party themed birthday.  So cute!
And these were for a wedding shower that my mom threw for a girl in her ward.  I think I made about 75 cupcakes or so.  Turned out adorable!

And now I can't remember if I ever shared pics of the wedding cake/cupcakes I did over the summer, but here they are as well!!
