Pandas!

Well, I am exhausted!  I will post all the fun birthday details tomorrow, but I just had to show off all the cute stuff I have been making!  The girls are having a little combined friend party this year since I feel like Kiki is old enough now, and the have some of the same friends they like to play with.  Mostly that's Jenica's friends that Kaitlyn asks to play with also!  So I talked the kiddos into doing a Panda themed party!  I suppose this is my first "hybrid" project.  But here are the invitations I made using the Pandas from Mindy Terasawa's Pandemonium kit available from designer digitals (see link to left).  ANYWAYS...they are 4x4...I used a circle punch to make the little window w/ the panda behind, then the circle and scallop punch to make the pink around the little window and then i used some foamy things to make the green paper stick up off the card.  And of course the bow tops it off!  I LOVE THEM!  Thanks to Tamara for the c.u.t.e. idea and letting me borrow her punches!!  :)
Second project...Happy Birthday Panda Banner!!  I made 4x4 squares and printed them at costco on a 4x6 and trimmed them down, hole punched, and tied it all together with cute ribbon!  Another thing I love!  hehe  I'm just so pleased with myself and all my craftiness!  Ok, I used the pandemonium kit here also!
And this is what I am most proud of!!  The panda cake I made for Kiki today!!!
Don't you just LOVE IT?  I know I do!  I probably don't need to say it, but it's made to look like the panda from the pandemonium kit!  I looked for the bear cake pan yesterday, but had no luck!  So I used a circle pan and a bowl and then cut the bowl cake so it wasn't so deep to make the mouth/nose.  And the ears are cupcakes!  I made cupcakes too, but I will share those tomorrow!  Anyways, I made my own buttercream frosting and added baking cocoa to it (first time, it was delicious) and made the panda brown instead of black because 1.) walmart was sold out of the wilton black food dye and 2.) Black food dye is just NASTY!!!!

Ok, I reeeeally need to get to bed!  I have an eventful day tomorrow too!  More later!!

Where does the time go???

Seriously!!  I am about to be the mother of a FOUR and SIX year old!  Seems like just yesterday they were tiny like this...maybe it's time for another baby!

The next few weeks will be busy with birthdays in our family!  Kaitlyn's is this sunday, Jenica's is a week from sunday, and then Josh's birthday is 2 weeks from that sunday (I guess +1 day this year, because it is leap year...but it all usually happens within 3 exact weeks)!  The boy is going to be the big 3-0!  Whoa!  We're getting old!  Any ideas on what I should do for him?

Happy Valentines Day!

Look at these beautiful flowers my sweet husband brought home to me tonight!  They smell fabulous and are so so pretty!!  And here's my favorite part, that brought tears to my eyes:
There are 2 giant gerber daisies in with the dozen roses.  Why do these mean so much?   Because Josh brought me a potted gerber daisy plant on our first date, nearly 8 (EIGHT!!!) years ago!
And I did a little craft with the girls this afternoon as well!  It was fun!  We made these little valentine people...mine is the one on the left, Jenica's is the top right, Kaitlyn's is the bottom right!  Kaitlyn even cut hers out all by her self, put the eyes on, tapen on the arms, legs, hands, feet, and drew it a sweet little face!  I knew Jenica could do it, but Kaitlyn impressed me with her mad cutting skills!  :)

In other news...I am exhausted!  Last night was a verrrry long night!  We had a HUGE snow storm blow in, not so much snow I guess because the news said we only got 1-2 inches!  But the drifts were HUGE!  People were stranded...kids were stuck at schools, on buses...our power went out at about 4:30 yesterday.  I was worried about being home alone with the kiddos in the dark, and then my friends husband came and picked us up and we went to their house, and then we drove to the next neighborhood down to go to her sisters house because she had a gas fireplace...so we could keep warm!  Their power came on at 7:30, but power at home stayed out until nearly 1am.  So I'm glad we stayed over.  Poor Josh didn't even try to come home because it was so bad, so he slept at work!!  I think I'm heading to bed...yawn...

no strep

last night Jenica hit 103.5...so I packed the kids up and took them to an instacare up in Riverton.  After an hour and a half neither of them tested positive for strep (a relief I guess), but poor Kaitlyn has a double ear infection.  So she's on ammoxicilan (sp?) now and both of them are still on advil because they both still have fevers.  Hopefully this ends soon!  I have been trying to catch up w/ some of the housework today, the house was a disaster, it happens when everyone is sick!  I feel ok, but I'm pretty tired today!  I tried to take a quick nap at like 3, but the kids refused to let me!  So I'm back up and need to finish up the kitchen and sweep/mop so I can start dinner!

Fever

well, it's been a lazy sleepy day at home.  i woke up at 9, both girls in bed with us!  Their fevers seem to spike opposite of eachother.  Jenica was up to 103 at 6am, then it was back down to 98/99, then at noon is was up to 101.5...I gave her some more advil and she has been asleep since, not sure of her current temp, but she feels better.  Kaitlyn's has been pretty steady around 98 until she just woke up from a nap, she was up to 101.8!!  So  gave her some advil and she's chilling on the couch.  I could've taken them to the dr today, but I am trying to wait until tomorrow morning!  Here's a list of "hurt" complaints I have heard:  throat, head, tummy, ears (only from kiki), jeni has a runny nose, and they both have bad coughs and high temps.

I made german pancakes from breakfast today, and then around 11:30 I was beat and back in bed.  I felt guilty just going to sleep, so I read my scriptures for about 1/2 hour and then I went to sleep!  I decided it was a good time to get my daily pages done for completing the book of mormon in 97 days!  (see the Hinckley Challenge).

Nothing too exciting going on this week.  hopefully we will get to hook up with my mom at some point!  We have been trying to get together since before she went to California back mid January...but the weather has not cooperated.  Now she wants to come down to REI to get some stuff for her approaching Africa trip, and then we could meet up...but I have to tend Mon-Wed...and I don't know which of those days I still will because of sick kids (hers and mine).  I feel like I am rambling now!  Guess that means its time to go!  :)  Happy Sunday!

The sick bug found our house!

It is so hard to see these cute little girls sick!!  :(  This picture was taken on Thursday morning...sickness didn't show up until last night!  About the picture first...I was taking pictures of Jenica tying her shoes!  I didn't even teach her and she ties the most perfect bows.  Anyways, after I was done Kaitlyn ran over and said she wanted to be in the picture too!  Soo cute, even at 7:30 am!

First Presidency

(today the new first presidency for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was named.  Incase you haven't heard yet, here you go!  You can read more at LDS.org!)
President Thomas S. Monson
1st Counselor Henry B. Eyring
2nd Counselor Dieter F. Uchtdorf

pay back is a...

You can finish that sentence however you want!

But I guess I am wondering if it is even payback when the person who did it to you is not the person that you did it to in the first place!?

In fact, the person that did this to us helped us do it to Josh's parents.  I think it's time to do something to Jeff.  Something big!

Jeff came down with his snowblower last night (not sure why) but he snowblowed a huge section of the lawn up onto the front door, so it was pretty solid.  I was pretty mad.  Sure, I can take a joke, but he wouldn't even help me get rid of it.

I would've just left it until Josh would decide to take it down, but I didn't like trotting through 3 feet of snow to get out of the house.  So I grabbed the shovel and got about the first half down myself.  I made the mistake of opening the front door to take a "cool" snowed in picture.  The snow shifted a bit and I couldn't get the door
shut all the way.  Anyways, then 2 of Josh's brothers came over and grabbed the snowblower (not the brother that did this) and helped me get the rest done.  I'm so glad they helped, it would've taken me forever.

And incase you're wondering, we got another couple feet of snow yesterday!  It was a blizzard, snowed nearly all day!!  And it's still coming down now!

On a different note, I had to share something funny!  Last night Jenica and her cousins were making books.  Just drawing pictures on paper stapled together, with whatever words they write on it.  Jenica came up to me and said "mom, how do you spell  Lun?"  I said "don't you mean bun?  or fun?"  She said "No, how do you spell lunnnn...don bridges falling down"  (I know london is spelled l-o-n-d-o-n, but I spelt in lun, for pronunciation purposes).

6 More Weeks of Winter?

Stupid Groundhog!

This winter has already been soooo long and nasty.  And today, it's a blizzard outside!

Blah!  :/  But I did just read his statistics on being correct...in the past 10 years he has been correct 60% of the time...so I guess that leaves a little room for hope, right?
