Ice Skating!

Saturday was a lot of fun!  We went to my parents house for my Dad's (56th) Birthday!  We all went out to dinner at Costa Vida (It was good, but I haven't been much for Mexican food these days...)!  After dinner we had some time to  kill before the free iceskating started, so we went back to my parents for cake and icecream!  Nothing is better than a delicious costco carrot cake!!  :)  Then we headed over to the South Davis Rec Center for some fun!  We were supposed to go iceskating on Christmas Eve last year, but it didn't happen because of a huge snow storm (remember the one that nearly stranded us on the way to Bountiful?).  The kids have been begging to go still, so we finally did!  The kiddos had  never been...I'm not sure about Josh, and then I probably haven't been since my senior year of high school when we went for Young Womens once.  I was a little nervous, thinking maybe I shouldn't be skating, but I never fell...so I guess it was ok?  Anyways...Jenica took held onto me pretty tightly for the first time around and then she was good to go, never held  me again...she fell quite a few times, but never let it bother her, she's hop right back up and just keep going!  She loved it!  Kaitlyn wanted to be held constantly.  She did very well on her own the few times she tried, but she wasn't a fan of falling and when she would fall...she would FALL!  Flat out on the ice.  Silly girl.
Here are all the girls (Paige, Jeni, and Kiki).  Notice how wet Jeni's pants are...lol.
And I had to take a picture of Guys hair.  He hasn't had a haircut since...last June, I believe!  It's so thick and curly...and he even wears barrettes and Bobbies now.  Here he is sporting the monster Bobby that Josh found him at Costa Vida!  Silly Boy!

We probably skated until about 9pm and then headed home!  They were open until midnight, and the kids were begging to stay...but we had to promise to come again another time!  Jenica is already asking constantly when that's going to be!

We got home and I got the kids to bed.  Then I chilled on the couch and had a popsicle.  Mmm, it was good.  But then a few minutes after it was gone I was laying on the couch and I told Josh I was going to puke, I sat up.  He didn't believe me.  He patted me on the back a couple times which sent me running to the bathroom!  Sure enough, I puked for the first time.  10 1/2 weeks until I threw up for the first time.  Guess I can't complain!  I just figured it was a 1 time deal, I feel nauseous all the time, but I don't usually throw up.  Then last night I got into bed and read a story to Jenica, then a few minutes later I was running for the bathroom again!  2 nights in a row, I wonder if this is going to be a regular thing now...guess we'll see tonight!  I weighed myself this morning...I am down 8.5 lbs.  I usually lose about 10 lbs before I start to gain, so at least something is going normal for me...!  Anyways, I need to get some food in my belly... Happy Monday!

Oh, and it doesn't seem like March is going out like a lamb...yesterday it snowed on and off all day...turning to rain in the afternoon/evening melting the snow, and today we woke up to snow/ice everywhere!  Scraping ice off a van is NO FUN!  Time to clean out the garage so I can park in there!!!

PS  I tried uploading a video of Jenica skating...but I just cancelled it after waiting for over 2 hours...I'll have to try something else later!

Update on Crappy Car...

Half of my day yesterday was soooo stressful and sad.  I couldn't let myself enjoy the fact I have a new car...

Josh and I went up to get crappy car out of impound...$184!  I think the most frustrating part was that they got the car during the last hour or 2 of Wednesday, so they charged me $15 for that day and $15 more for Thursday...what a joke...it wasn't even there for 12 hours...and we had to pay for 2 days storage.  Whatever.  So the guy there was kinda a jerk.  Josh went in to figure out what was going on and there was no paper work...nothing saying why the car was towed.  He ran across the street and talked to the police who told him that Lehi City had it towed.  Because it was a Traffic Hazard.  Wow, I did't know that parking a car on the side of the road was a hazard.  It's not like we were leaving it there forever.  Then we learn they only take debit or cash.  All we had was a check, because I needed to come home and deposit all my saved up checks so we could afford to get the stupid thing out.  So it was kinda a waste of time for poor Joshy and we had to head home because it was time to pick up Jenica.

I got Josh's brother to go with me later in the day to pick it up!  Same thing, guy was a jerk, but I paid for it and then we went back and he wiggled the battery cable, jumped it, and it made it home.  So now it's at least home and I don't have to worry about it anymore!  Thank goodness!

On the way to pick up crappy car I was still pretty stressed about the situation, but Josh called me and said he had gotten the checks all picked up to pay for the van and  it was now ours!  I felt so relieved.  Everything started to feel like it was going to be okay!

I've been looking forward to being able to drive places now and I am excited for tomorrow!  We are going up to my parents again because it's my dad's bday on sunday, we we're going to dinner!  And then the rec center up there has free ice skating and swimming from 7-midnight, so I think we are going to try and go over there for a little bit!  Can't wait!

Best Surprise. EVER.

So...yesterday I was stuck at home with no car.  My brother in law got the alternator tested...worked great.  So, I told him Josh's theory on the battery stuff with the car, he went up to my car, put the alternator back in and get 'er running!  My mother in law was going to give me a ride to pick up the car, but I didn't want to have to drag all the kids (I say "all" because I was babysitting).  Anyways.

About 5:30 Josh came home (I was totally shocked, he's never home that early).  He said "let's go get your car home" so I got the kids and a few minutes later I walk out the front door expecting to see Josh's cute little civic, but I see this blue van instead!  I totally thought he was messing around with me.  There was no way he'd just go buy a car.  I figured he was just test driving it and as soon as we get my car home we would take the car back.  I walked around the back of the van for some reason and noticed it had temporary plates on it...you know the cute hand written date ones?  Yah, I'm not the proud owned of a 2006 Honda Odyssey!  Pretty silly that this is my dream car, hehe!  I kept waking up all night thinking it was all a dream, but it's still there!  :)  I'm a Minivan Mama!!

And the timing couldn't be more perfect!  With our trip to Disneyland in a month, that will make the drive MUCH more pleasant, especially with the dvd player!  The kids are in heaven!  Now back to old crappy car....we went to pick it up and it made it half way home before dyeing!  So hopefully this morning we can get the new cable or whatever and get the problem fixed, I'm really worried about where we left it on the road.  My friend said she saw a cop behind it with the lights on last night.  I hope it's still there!  It died at a stop light this time and Josh was luckily behind me in the van...so he hopped out and pushed me back onto the side of the road.  That's all we need now is for it to get towed!  Anyways, once it's home and running well again, I will clean it up, and we will sell it!

I gotta go get Jeni ready for school!  I can't believe it was 71 on tuesday and this morning we have some snow!  Crazy March weather!!

**EDITED TO ADD** I suppose things can't just get better...crap still happens.  We went to get crappy car this morning, and it was gone.  Lovely.  Came home, made a dozen phone calls and found it...it was towed!  They want $155 for the tow, + $15-$30 depending on if it was towed last night or this morning.  Wonderful news!  Just what I wanted to have to deal with!  Josh is on his way up to figure it out right now...it's odd because the place we found it at says they can't tow without the police telling them to do so, but none of the police departments around here have record of towing it...I had to call the county dispatch to find out anything and they didn't have a department linked to it. It's retarded.  I'm glad you can't leave a broken car on the side of the road for a whole 13 hours...well...not even that...who knows when it was towed!  I'll let you know what happens!

Wednesday Ramblings...

Cracklin' Oat Bran!  It's actually very delicious once you get past the fact that it looks like dog food, covered in milk.  Maybe I find that gross because I'm pregnant...?  But I did buy some at Smith's this morning because I remember eating it at my Grandma's as a kid and liking it!  Still very tasty, just can't look at it too long.  hehe
Speaking of gross looking, good tasting food...there is a great example!  Jenica took about 2 bites and called it good, she just couldn't get past the GREEN appearance.  This was St Patricks day, breakfast was green oatmeal, green buttered toast, and green milk.  I choked down some green toast with my regular colored oatmeal...it made me feel gross.  Funny.

And have I mentioned how much I despise my car lately???  Well here is some more!  My brother in law is a mechanic, he took a look at why my car failed and said it was a bunch of crap.  So he pressure washed the engine to show there was no leak, and he fixed my tail light and I took it back down and it PASSED!  Even though the dude was still a total jerk, but that's besides the point.  So I drove it around and noticed the brake light and battery light were flashing at me.  I just figured a wire or something was loose.  I ran to the grocery store that (monday) night, and when I got into the parking lot the radio died.  It was really weird.  We got some food, and then I went to go home, and car wouldn't start.  I was so mad, I forgot my phone at home.  Luckily I saw a guy from my ward and ran after him and he came and jumped my car.  3 TIMES!  Each time he took the cables off it died.  He ended up giving me and the girls a ride home!

Yesterday morning Josh went down and took a look at it...it was the battery connector things, like it always is when the car has a problem.  So he fixed it, jumped it, and I got it home.  I even turned it back on to make sure it still worked.  It did.  So yesterday afternoon I had like an hour and a half to myself while the girls were at a primary activity.  I decided to run to Target and pick up some stuff to see if it helped them with their oh so itchy all the time skin.  I made it to the off ramp of the freeway and when I stopped, the car died.  ON THE OFF RAMP!  I tried to roll down the window, but it wouldn't go, so I had to open the door to signal people around me.  My hazards were hardly working...a really nice guy stopped and we jumped the car, but again...as soon as the cables came off, the car died.  An incident management truck came and he pushed me over onto the side of the road.  My brother in law (the mechanic) came to see what was up with the car.  He couldn't figure it out.  Josh thinks it's the battery, BIL thinks it's the alternator, so he yanked it from the car to have it tested.  So now my car is sitting in a park and ride lot...hope it's still there.  Josh would've gone and done the battery thing to it this morning, but he doesn't have time to put the alternator back in.  So, I'm stuck home today!

So there's the fun I know you all wish you were having the last couple days!  :)  It's wednesday, the weeks 1/2 over.  I babysit the rest of the week...which is good, I'm saving my $ for our trip to DISNEYLAND in 33 DAYS!!  We are soooo excited!  A leave tuesday come back saturday trip has turned into a leave sunday, come back saturday, possibly sunday.  Depends if we stop in Mesquite on the way home.  We decided to break up the drive into 2 days because  you can get a room there for $29!  It'll make it a little easier with the kids!

I'm Back!!

Not the greatest pictures, I will have to lighten them up in photoshop later!  Just wanted to show off my cute girls though!  I am horrible at taking Easter pictures, so I guess I am glad I got these at least!  We had a very busy weekend!  Saturday morning we went to Josh's parents for breakfast and then an egg hunt for the kiddos, and then we went to my parents house for dinner and another egg hunt.  Good Times!  Sunday we went to Church, then back to the ER to get Kaitlyn's stitches out, I would've waited until monday, but they made is pretty clear that day 5 was crucial for getting them out and I didn't want her to have any funky scarring.  So, she did great!  She was really scared but once the guy took the first one out, she was ok with it.  When we were done she saw the stitches on the bed and has been telling everyone they were blue.  She thought that was pretty cool.  I wish I had my camera with me though because we were a block from the Timpanogos Temple and that would have been perfect for some Easter pictures, especially since the girls were still all dressed up!

And you can sorta see Jenica's new haircut!  She got a ton cut off, she loves it short and I do too because it's easy to brush...it used to get so tangled.  Kaitlyn also got her hair cut and some cute little bangs to hide her scar a little!

I have more to write about, but I think I am going to lay down, I feel pretty yucky today!  I will update later, now that I can...my comptuer is fixed!  YAY!

Lil' Bean

Wednesday I have my first OB appointment.  Everything went great!  I talked to him about the chance of me getting toxemia again and he made me feel a lot better about that (less than 10% chance, and not until the very end...since last time I got it at 39 weeks).  So I shouldn't stress about it, that doesn't help anything.  So here's a picture (very blurry, sorry...I took a picture of the picture with my phone) of our Lil Bean!  Everything looked great and measured right on, and the best part...a heartbeat!  :)
And sorry for the bad picture, my phone doesn't take great pics, but it's the only way I can figure out how to post pictures without uploading my camera to Josh's laptop, I can send my cell phone pics to Flickr.  Gotta make do...anyways, here's Kiki's head shot showing off her stitches!  They are looking great!  2 more days and they come out!  Yay!

stitches

Computer still not working...Josh has been busy with work and hasn't had time to touch it!  Hopefully soon.  I miss my computer!  At least I have Josh's laptop that I can sneak onto while he's not using it!  hehe

Yesterday my afternoon got very crazy/scary.  I was babysitting 2 girls, the girl I usually tend, and my sister in law so my mother in law could work.  The late morning/early afternoon was going alright...the girls kinda fought (that's what 4 girls do when they're together), I made them some lunch and then around 1 I turned on enchanted and made some popcorn.  About 1:50 my MIL got here to get Alicia.  I was laying on the couch...we talked for a few minute.

Then Kaitlyn ran down the hall back towards her room and tripped (on her feet?) and smacked her head on the door frame to her room.  She hopped up really quick, screaming, holding her head.  I saw blood gushing down her face.  My MIL grabbed her and I grabbed a towel to put on her head, she looked at it and said she definitally needs stitches.

It was a little after 2, my friend would be here in about 10 minutes to pick up her daughter (she was at home sleeping, she works nights).  So we all jumped in my MIL's car, I drove...she held Kaitlyn.  I went to my friends house and her husband was working from home so I was able to leave her (which was good, 1 more kid to have to drag with us).  We went to the instacare here in town.  I was a little annoyed....We bring my 4 year old in with a gaping head wound and they are going to make us wait behind 3 or 4 other people.  I asked for some advil for her to help with the pain and they took me in the back, I showed the nurses her head and they hurried and got the dr to come check it out.  He said he could fix it, but he would recommend we take her to the ER where someone more experienced could do it and they could sedate her if they needed to.

So off we went up to the ER, I sat in the back to hold the towel on Kiki's head.  She fell asleep pretty quick....It made me pretty nervous.  We got to the ER and they knew we were coming, the instacare had called ahead for us.  The triage nurse put a gauze on her head with some numbing cream on it and about 20-30 minutes later we were back with the ER dr.  He was super nice.  Kaitlyn woke up when he was ready to stitch her up.  Poor thing.  We had myself and 4 nurses trying to hold her down.  He did 2 internal stitches because it was so deep.  He said there was a thin layer left and then her skull.  It was above her left eye, running clear up to her scalp almost.

She wanted nothing to do with getting fixed.  So...the dr ended up sedating her.  It was really scary.  They had to put her on oxygen, she layed there with her eyes wide open, looking around kinda scared looking, but not caring what the dr did.  He stitched her up with 11 more stitches on the outside and close it up really good!  Then I had to wait about 30 minutes for the sedation to wear off.   She was pretty out of it.  She told me I had 6 eyes, 2 noses and 2 mouths.
Anyways, whole thing took about 4 hours.  She's doing great now!  I have some pics to post, but I can't right now!  The laptop is out of batteries so I am going to hurry and post this before it turns of on me!

Crappy!

Well...today just seems so crappy!  My stupid car is expired!  I went to do safety and emissions and it failed!  Stupid car!  There's a big list of crap that has to be done and I don't even feel like it's even worth doing because we're going to need a bigger car eventually.  It's like, why not just go buy one now?  GRRRR!

I don't know when I'll be back on to blog...my computer is broken ( I am using Josh's laptop right now).  He put leopard on it on Saturday night and now it won't start!  Just thought I would give my few readers a heads up!  lol  Gotta run get kids from school and then we're headed to Horton Hears A Who!  Hopefully I will be back on soon!!

She's BACK!!

There are a million ways I could say it!!

Back on the same side of the world.
Back on the same continent.
Back in the same country.
and best of all...Back in the same time zone!!

MY MOM IS HOME!!  The last 2+ weeks have been hard...I am used to talking to my mom every day.  I didn't get to talk to her at all while she was gone.  She went to Africa.  Crazy old lady!  :)  At least we were able to email each other, but it's just not the same as talking.  She got back home tonight (after 30 hours of traveling).  I am so excited!

I missed her!

Jenica and Kaitlyn broke down several times bawling that they missed Nana and wanted to talk to her.  They have been counting down the days and now that she's home, we are all thrilled!  Tomorrow after school we will head up to see her, although I'm sure I will need a nap!  lol

I missed her a lot!

My Little Secret...

Alright everyone...I have TOTALLY been slacking!  And I have plenty of excuses, I'm sure.  Here are a few major ones:
#1)  I feel like crap!  I am completely exhausted all the time and can't seem to get enough sleep!
Ok, that's a big one right there.  I have had zero energy!  So...I suppose since the kids found out (Josh accidently said something not knowing that they didn't know), and they have been soooo cute and saying and doing the cutest stuff ever, and I want to be able to blog about it since this is basically my journal.  So, I guess I will just come out and say it!
We're Havin' A Baby!
I have known for 4 weeks now...I tested + 3 days early...kinda crazy!  I am still a little nervous to be putting all of this up here because of my miscarriage last August, but here's the hoping everything will be ok!  I had a little scare last monday and I went into the dr, they did an ultrasound and saw a baby and a heartbeat!  I guess that's what makes me feel a little better about posting this!  Not that many people read this anyways, and most of those who do, already know.  So...there you have it!  The secret I've been keeping!

haha...I wanted to wait longer, but like I said, I want to be able to write all the things the kids are doing!  I am exhausted right now (go figure) and should go to bed...so I will get those up soon, because I promise, they are great!  I love all the constant belly hugs, kisses, talks, etc from the girls!

Incase you were wondering, I'm due October 23!  :)

and ps...
We're Gettin' A Puppy!
Yup, I really must be crazy!  We went and saw the puppies 2 days after they were born, and fell in love!!  Here's to some big changes!!

to dog, or not to dog...

I suppose I have 8 weeks to make up my mind!  I just got a call from my oldest brother and his schnauzer had puppies.  And we can have one.  Jenica and Kaitlyn LOVE my brothers dog Ruby!  They would be in heaven if we got one!  So he told me they had 3 puppies, all are spoken for and one, an all black male, is ours if we want.  I want it, the girls want it, but I'm sorta unsure.  I guess we will see how it goes!  He said we can come up and see the puppies...he said they are tiny...they fit in the palm of his hand.  I'd  love to see them that tiny.  So this picture isn't their dog...but it's what ours would look, since it's a black shnauzer!!
