snow more

I am so sick of the cold!  This winter has been soooo cold and snowy!  I can't even think of when it was warm outside...will it ever be warm again?  Today at an Activity Day planning meeting we were talking about having a water activity in the park in July, swimsuits and all!  I just thought it was so weird that it will be warm (infact HOT) again.  I can't wait!  Although I know once the heat wave hits I'll be wishing it was cold again.   You just can't win!

For the most part I don't mind the snow...just when:
-I have to clean off the car at 7:40am to take Jenica to school
-I have a hard time getting out of the driveway because it is covered in so much snow
-I can't go anywhere because the roads are so icky
-The city doesn't do their job and plow our street (this one happens all to often)
I'm sure i could go on, but I won't complain anymore!  I really do love the snow.  The kids do too, they love going sledding!

I should probably get to bed soon, I have another day of babysitting tomorrow!  Today was nice, it was the first day in a looong time that I didn't have to watch any other kids!  Me and Tamara went to lunch at McDonalds (for the kids, we had Cafe Rio).  Yummy!  :)  It was a nice break!  Back to work tomorrow and then I'm done for the week!!  I can't wait!  We might go to see my mom on Friday, depends on when she has to get her Yellow Fever shot (she's going to Africa next month).  Later!!

MockDonalds, Weekend Fun, and other Ramblings...

Here I am, being a copy cat again.  Last friday a girl in the ward had me and the girls over after school to hang out and have lunch.  She made french fries from fresh potatoes (I have done this, but I put them in the deep fryer...not so healthy).  She baked them in the oven.  She pulled out a veggie tray and the grilled up some mini hamburgers and served them on homemade rolls.  So a hamburger sounded so good last night.  We went to the grocery store to get some fixins and such and the girls were begging me to take them to mcdonalds.  Instead, we made our own mcdonalds, now known as mockdonalds.  I served little burgers on rolls I bought and I cooked some fries (from a bag, I didn't have time to make some from scratch), and to top it off, my kids favorite thing at mcd's is the Orange Hi-C.  So I bought a pack of juice boxes.  They loved it.  I thought they were delicious!

I just realized that it's the end of January.  We could be on a cruise right now.  We were invited to go with Todd (Josh's business partner) and a bunch of him family.  It was a killer deal, but we ended up not doing it because I would've been 36 weeks pregnant.  Things with that didn't work out, so now I'm a little bummed I'm not some place warmer.  Oh well.

I never wrote about my awesome weekend!  It was a lot of fun!  Friday night the girls went to their cousins birthday party (they came home with funky hair streaked with pink and blue and makeup).  I guess they all dressed up like they were in a rock band or something.  I took the opportunity of having the kids gone to go to a movie with Tamara.  We saw 27 dresses.  We had been wanting to see it for a while!  It worked perfect.  I dropped the kids off at 7, the movie started at 8.  We went to Target and looked around a bit and then headed to the theatre, where we got dinner to eat while watching the movie.  It worked out pretty well!  Although the food was almost gone before the movie started because there were sooo many previews.   I guess I'm just used to the MOM club movies, no previews.  After the movie we stopped at Chili's and got dessert!  Yum!  :)
Saturday was pretty boring...I went shopping for some groceries and cleaning stuff.  Nothing too exciting, but other than that it was a pretty relaxing day.  On Sunday I made a Cafe Rio style pork roast for Pork Taco's.  Soooo good!  Josh said it was my best pork yet.  I have been playing around with the recipe for a couple years now (I remember making it for Kiki's 2nd birthday).  Anyways, it turned out perfect.  We had our friends, the Sowards over for dinner!  It was a lot of fun!!  Thanks Guys (if you read this...)!  We don't have people over very often, we mostly just hang out with Josh's family, which happens  a LOT considering they live right across the street.

Well, I need to get some stuff figured out for tomorrow.  We have an activity and I am supposed to have red painted blocks that say R.E.D. on them in vinyl (stands for read every day).  I totally spaced it, so I need to see if I can come up with some blocks and see if my father in law can cut me some vinyl today.  Yikes!  I let ya know how they turn out...i mean, if they turn out!  hehe

President Hinckley

I was not expecting this.  I got onto KSL.com to check out the classifieds, and Pres. Hinckley's picture was on the page with the headline "President Gordon B Hinckley has passed away".  I knew it would happen eventually, but I wasn't ready to let him go...he got called to be the Prophet when I was only 12 years old.  He was my prophet, he's the only one I really knew...I remember the 2 before him, but I was so young.  Anyways, I am so grateful for all he has done for the church and my life personally.  I am so grateful I was able to see him as close as I did last summer, this is the picture I got at the 24th of July parade.  He will be greatly missed.  And although I am so sad, I am so happy for him to be able to be with his sweet wife again!!

100th Day of School...

I never had a 100th day of school celebration growing up...but it seems like a pretty big deal.  They had a big party and everything.  So tomorrow Jenica has her first "project" due for school.  Her 100th day of school project...no real guidelines except it has to be something containing 100 of something and the paper listed a few ideas and that's about it...

So I (being as clever and crafty as I am..LOL) thought long and hard about what to do (Jenica wanted to glue 100 littlest pet shops to a board and call it good...the sad thing is, we have enough of those toys to do it...)!  Lately she has been obsessed with snowglobes.  My mom gave her a cheap snowman one before christmas and Jenica looooved it.  She decided she wants a collection, and now she's up to 4 (thanks to 1 from my mom for christmas and 2 from the dollar store).  She keeps them put up on her bookshelf and doesn't let anyone play with them.

Anyways, I'm getting off track a little here.  I thought it would be cute to come up with some kind of snow globe that had 100 snowflakes.  So I traced my biggest frying pan onto a piece of poster board and she cut it out and painted it pink (so the snowflakes would show up of course.  Then I traced 3 cups and she cut out those circles for the snowman,...I drew the hat and carrot and she cut them out and assembled him and put drew his eyes, mouth, and button.  Then I helped her glue on the snowflakes because they were taking forever.  I think it turned out adorable!  :)

I guess I should probably go to bed...I feel like playing some sudoku but I can't find the DS.  It's been a long day...a long week at that!  And I get to babysit again tomorrow!  Yay for me!  I think next week I only have 2 days, and then 1 with the other kids...so 3 days...better than 4.  I'm just worn out this week!  Blah!  Tomorrow should be fun though, we'll see!  And I have lots to post about cupcakes later...probably tomorrow!

Snowed In!

Oh My!  This is  sooo mean and sooo funny at the same time!  Last night Josh really wanted to build an igloo (with all the crazy snow we got).  Jeff was here hanging out, it was probably about 12:30 and Jeff was leaving.  The boys were talking and Jeff said it would be cool to brick a little area around their parents door so they were  blocked when they went out.  I chimed in and said wouldn't it be faster to just push snow up into the doorway?  So they started doing that and then AJ came home and helped the guys.  They had a spare door all propped up to it to help shape it and Josh was determined to make it go to the ceiling.  We were all cracking up last night, but I feel kinda bad this morning.  My favorite picture is above, from the inside.  I wish I could've seen whoever left first and found the snow packed door!

Snow Day!

I'm glad there was no school today...even though the school is in the neighborhood, it would've been a mess trying to get there.  I think it's safe to say we got over a foot of new snow here.  This is what our cars looked this this morning.  I had to go out in the backyard to clear off the dish, and the snow was almost up to my knees.  I spent forever shoveling the driveway so I could get my car out this afternoon to go get some groceries.  I got the end all cleared off and then the snow plow came and pushed a pile back in the way.  I was so mad.  My brother in laws came over and helped finish it for me so I could leave.  They got it all cleared and another plow came.  I'm glad they helped me, I was getting worn out!  When I got back from the store, my brother in laws had done this!  I was cracking up!!

RiSK! (part 2)

Tonight we got talked into playing another game of Risk!

It was a long game for me tonight.  We started at 8pm and it ended at 1am.  There were 5 of us playing tonight, Josh was the first to go out, leaving his brother Jeff and wife Shelley, his Mom and me.  This picture was taken after me and Shelley took Jeff out of the game (if he had another turn he had enough cards to get 180 armies, pretty much winning the game).  Since I was the one to kill him off, I inherited the cards.  But then my mother in law and Shelley took me completely out before I could turn them in.

Shelley took me out, it was verrrrry close.  She got the cards.  Mother in law tried to take her out and left her with 1 country left, which she put like 183 armies on and ended up taking over the whole world.  It was a lot of fun!

My Little Artist

Check out my sweet little Kaitlyn!  I remember how exciting it was when Jenica started drawing stuff I could recognize.  Last night was the first time Kaitlyn drew something for me and I could tell what it was.  It was great!  I am so proud of her!  Check out her perfect little picture (of me *grin*) that she drew.  It was so cute, she had the head, face, and torso, arms and legs.  She said "mommy, what do I need?"  I said Hair.  She drew hair, she said "that's perfect"  Then I said "hands" she drew them, said "that's perfect" again.  I said "feet"  She sat there for a second looking at the picture, drew the cutest feet ever, and the said "that's perfect, all done" and handed it to me!  What a doll!  :)

Pound Puppies

I must know, do any of you remember Pound Puppies?  Not just the stuffed toys, but the show?  A week or so ago I noticed that they have been playing the original series on Boomerang (I think it's a Cartoon Network Station).  I was so excited and recorded it for the girls to watch (It's on everyday at 3:30 here in Utah).  Anyways, they looooved it and want to watch it all the time, in fact, they are watching it right now!  I found the intro on youTube.  I had to put it up.  After I recorded it for the first time I told Josh to go play it for a second.  Here's how the
 conversation went...
k: hey, they starting playing pound puppies again, go turn it on for a second
j: pound puppies?  Kari, i'm a boy, i didn't watch pound puppies.  i watched stuff like g.i. joe, heman...boy shows.
k: just go play it.
(he turns it on and 5 seconds into the intro)
j: oh, pound puppies, i used to watch this all the time!

It was so funny!!  So here's the video!

And here's a picture I pulled out today, it's from 1987.  I was living in Centralia, Wa at the time, and I got the pleasure of meeting a pound puppy at Yard Birds, lol.  And my brothers got to meet a Tran
sformer.
 How cool is that?  :)

Happy {CHINESE} New Year

**EDIT**  I feel like an idiot...I wasn't sure when Chinese New Year was, I looked it up online this morning before school and I swear it said January 7,  then Angie corrected me, and I went and looked again and I read it wrong, it said February 7...lol...sorry my brain isn't working!  Oh well!  **END EDIT**

Apparently this is late, Chinese New Year was January 7, but this week Jenica has been learning all about it, taking Chinese or Japanese stuff for show and tell and I guess today is the day the school is celebrating it.  She kept insisting that she was supposed to wear her clothes to school (she has 2 different Japanese Outfits from our Ai and Aki).  So today I went down and found this cute outfit, it actually has matching shorts, but it's snowing...she begged me to wear them.  She even said she could take them in her backpack and go into the bathroom and change.  How cute, I "forgot" to put them in her bag though.  Oh well.  I thought she looked pretty cute so of course I had to get a picture.  :)

watering flowers

I have to write this down before I forget.

This afternoon we went to Target to get some new towels for the kids bathroom, because I was noticing how the 2 once matching towels were now totally different shades of blue.  lol  It was making me crazy, so I decided I must have new ones and I love Target's towels (the cheap $4.99 ones that are super soft).  Ok, so who can go to Target and not look around at everything?  And of course we had to look at the toys.  What trip to the store isn't complete without that?

So...Jenica had found a really cute watering can she was packing around, then she found the same little mommy doll that Kaitlyn has, but with blonde hair.  She was begging me to buy it.  I took it from her and put it back on the shelf while she was starting to throw a fit.  She still had the watering can in her hand so I said  "water the flowers".

A lady was walking by me and she stopped and said "that's a great line, water the flowers, I'm going to have to use that."  I looked at her confused and told her I was talking about her pretending to water the flowers with the watering can, instead of packing around the doll.  lol  She thought I had said it because she was throwing a fit and I guess you could water the flowers with your tears.  Made me giggle, something that would be fun to say to my kids...but I doubt I'll ever remember to.

And of course I didn't just buy towels, I bought some new washcloths, cupcake plates (to go with the placemats and cups I have already), some laundry detergent, and deal of the day: a huge dora playhut playhouse.  The thing is almost as tall as me, it's ENORMOUS!  I was shocked when we pulled it out of the box.  Anyways, it was on clearance for $9.99.  I think it was reg. $40!  I think I need to take this one back because there are some funky sewing problems on it, they had a ton in store.  And one of the wires on the bottom of the wall is all tweaked so it arches up instead of straight.  But still, if I don't get to exchanging it, it was a good deal.

I'm too lazy to take a picture of it right now, but you can see it here!!  And it's $50 at toysrus!  :)

{Crazy} weather

Sorry this is a few days late, but better late than never, right?  Tuesday the relief society had a munch and mingle up at the church.  Tamara used to be in my ward, and we go to lunch every week anyways, so I invited her to come.  She grabbed us some yummy salads from Bajio (thanks Tamara) and she stopped at my house for a second and then we drove up to the church.  I snapped this picture as I was walking out the door to get the kids in the car.  It was super windy, snowy, and foggy, but at least at the time there was some visibility.  Tamara asked me if she thought anyone would still go with the crazy weather, I said sure, let's drive up there and see.
And I am not even kidding you, we drove around the corner and BAM!  I couldn't see a thing.  Tamara was right in front of me and I couldn't even see her car.  It was really scary, the church is like 2 (really big) blocks away.  It was so bad.
When we finally made it to the church and were safely parked we ran the kids inside and then came back out to get our food.  I got this great picture of Tamara, she took one of me, but it's not as good because I had a beanie on, so I just look like a retard.  I love this picture though!!  We had a good time and the storm cleared out before we left.  When I first walked into the gym I started talking to someone and they told me my face was all wet.  I wiped it with my hand and surely, it was.  I think my face was so numb from it being so cold that I couldn't feel the wet.

Moving on, here's a picture I am mostly posting so my mom can see, but it's what me made at our Activity for Activity Days yesterday.  We got this poster in the Friend Magazine, and I went and picked up more at the distribution center.  I won't even go into the detail of how horrible it was trying to find them, maybe another time.  But you cut out all the squares and each one has the month and theme and scripture that is what they are learning in primary.  You are supposed to memorize the theme and scripture and then you turn it over and it has a big picture of kids from around the world so at the end of the year you have a picture.  They looooved it.  I used my cuttlekids cutter and alphabet (I guess I shouldn't say my, it's Jenica's, she got it for Christmas).  For those who don't know what it is, it's a little die-cut machine.  Anyways, I used that to cut out I am a child of God and each girls name for their poster.
Today is going to be nice.  I was supposed to babysit for the lady in my ward, but her older daughter (I think she's in 9th grade) stayed home sick so she just left the kids home with her.  I don't mind watching them, the kids enjoy it, but I am just worn out considering I have been babysitting all week.  It'll be a nice break!  Gotta run get kiki some breakfast, me too.  I just got some yummy new cereal.  Mmmm.

Copy Cat

Yup, that's me!  I am the biggest copy cat...ask anyone...ask Tamara...because she's the one that I always seem to be copying!  lol  I'm sorry Tamara, I just like your style!  (I copied her and bought the same shoes and coat as her...)

Now I am copying her chipboard flower idea!  Forgive me please!  This is what she made.  Isn't it so cute?  (It's towards the bottom of her post).

Anyways, I got these cute vases in a pack at Target in the "dollar spot" for $2.50.  I loved them and once again copied Tamara and put them on top of my computer desk.  lol  Good thing I have a friend to steal ideas from!  :)

Well, I have so much more to write about, especially my CrAzY day...but I will wait until later...I have to run to Orem, again....fun...2nd time today!  More later!

RiSK

Oh my goodess...I haven't played Risk for ages...probably not since long before I got married.  I don't think I could even tell you the last time I played.  Until tonight.

We went over to Josh's parents for dinner, and after dinner we were trying to get the boys to stay upstairs and do something with us, a game, anything.  They always go down to the basement and play the xbox and do their own thing.  Tonight Josh pulled out risk and the battle began.  There were 6 of us playing.  I was the first to go out...after over 2 hours!  :(

It was a lot of fun.  I was down to one country...Japan.  I had 14 pieces stockpiled on it and once my sil Shelley moved all her pieces and there was only 1 left I knew it was time to make my move.  I took out her 1, then moved into N. America, which was all taken over by my bil Jeff.  I took over 6 of the countries there, but I only had 1 army on each one.  And so when his next turn came around he took me out and then Shelley finished my last 2 off on her turn.  It was great!  Too bad it is such a long game, I've been out for probably an hour and the other 5 are still going, although Josh says Shelley is just about out!  I was hoping to go to bed early tonight and now it's 11:15, so much for that!  Anyways, I have a picture to put up, I am waiting for my bil to email it to me though!  I'm off to bed!  Good Night!

calendar

I can't believe I missed another day! Yesterday was kinda busy, but at the same time it seemed pretty uneventful! It was the first day tending 2 new kids. Not that there is anything wrong with babysitting, but I was just thinking "Is this what I wanted to do with my life?" Am I giving my own kids the time/attention they need? It doesn't seem like it's that big of a deal, but I hope I'm not having other kids here too much. The first girl I watch is while her mom is at home sleeping (she works nights). I pick her up with Jenica at 10:45 from school and then her mom gets here at 2:15. So 3 1/2 hours, no biggie. These other kids I will watch one a week. They come at 8am, at 11:30 the 6 year old goes to school and the 4 year old (girl, which is great, someone to play with Kaitlyn) stays until 2:30. All the kids are really easy and the days are short. I don't know why I'm thinking about it so much...Maybe I need to set a deadline or something to when I'm just not gonna do it anymore. I have a great one...I'll have a baby...lol Then I'll be done for sure! :) Just gotta work on the baby part! My "due date" is quickly approaching...less than 2 months. I was hoping I would be pregnant again by now, but it seems to be taking longer than usual. It makes me sad sometimes, but I know it will happen when it's supposed to!

So today I spent WAY too long making calendars for the Activity Day girls. I went through like 3 different colors/themes and ended up with this one. I had them printed at costco and picked up to hand out tomorrow at church! I used the Cupcake princess kit from Designer Digitals (same kit at my background and header). The picture from and lined paper is from the Cherish Add on kit (from weeds and wildflowers design) and the Letters are from the Be Mine Felt Alpha (Designer Digitals) and the cute bow is from the-lilypad.com and is called fluffy puffy ribbons.

After I submitted the order for the prints I got the girls some lunch and we headed out to FINALLY do some grocery shopping. Blah. I don't know why I keep taking them with me. Josh was home and I could've left them home, but I thought it would be fun. I thought they would be good. Costco was good. Walmart was good until Jenica freaked out screaming over Pudding. To the point I had 2 ladies try to help me. I should've just left...but it's hard to bring yourself to leaving when it takes half an hour just to get there and you have a cart full of groceries. We eventually worked it out and finished our shopping. Smiths was pretty good, until Jenica pretended Kaitlyn was her dog and Kiki crawled and barked around the store. Cute, but sloooow.

Food is too expensive. Not really bad, but it seems to be when you are trying to eat healthy. I got some really good stuff though. I need to do better at eating better. And get back to the gym! Monday morning...I am tired of feeling sick all the time. Time to get a new check off chart (12 weeks) and this time I won't slack off 1/2 way through (it's really hard around Christmas though). Anyways, now I am just rambling, so I am going to go to bed, I have a really bad headache!

Sunrise

When I went out this morning to start the car and take out the garbage cans before I took Jeni to school I saw the most beautiful sunrise! I am sad that these pictures don't do it any justice! It was so pink and soooo pretty! The picture are screwed up layout wise, and I don't have the patience to try to fix it! I have to go get Jeni from school in a few minutes and then we are going to run a few errands since today is my only "day off" this week! lol I never have a day off, just days off from watching other peoples kids!

So, I don't know what else to say right now, I am kinda bummed though that I didn't write yesterday. First missed day this year. Oh well I guess, it was going to happen sooner or later.

And as for my hair, I think I like it today. I washed it and styled it myself, always makes a big difference to me. So enjoy the self portrait I took of myself. lol I am such a dork, I know...but I think it's cute (the hair). :) Alright...Time to go! More later I'm sure...

Haircut Regret

Is there such a thing? I don't know that I really regret cutting it, I just think I would've done it a little different, looking back! I love my long hair, but it is so thick and gets all funky (see bad hair day picture to the right). So I decided to chop it, it's still long, I'm sure I'll like it more when I have to do it and it doesn't take me an hour. And i'm kinda annoyed because the lady didn't wash my hair, so it's kinda gross and matted down, I'm sure once I wash it and style it myself I will feel differently! I hope so anyways!!

Today was a pretty busy day. It would've been pretty boring if it weren't for Tamara! Thanks! :) She brought over her new carpet cleaner and yummy chinese food and we had fun! lol Has my life come to being excited over cleaning my carpet? haha I suppose that comes with my old age? Anyways, thanks for the fun afternoon Tamara! It was nice to let the kids do whatever and enjoy myself!

I was thinking I was going to run some errands tomorrow before I have to get Jenica from school, but I won't be able to until Thursday (I babysit tomorrow and don't want to go out with an extra kid). I have visiting teaching appointments at 9:30 and 10. And holy cow, it'll only be the 9th!

I suppose I should get to bed a bit earlier tonight, I kinda disregarded the alarm clock at 7 this morning...and turned it off! ooops! I woke up at 7:51...school starts at 8! I had Jenica in the car by 7:59...don't ask me how, I don't remember, and I think she was still sleeping as well!

Cupcakes, Deer, and Haircuts...

I suppose it is safe to say that I am obsessed with Cupcakes. Not so much with eating them, although I do enjoy a delicious cupcake...but I loooove making cupcakes, especially really cute ones that end up being delicious and I get lots of compliments on them! hehe

I'm sure you couldn't guess my obsession just by looking at the theme of my blog here...But anyways, I made these cute cupcakes (or at least I thought so) for my Father in Laws 50th birthday party tonight. And thank you to my mommy for getting me this awesome cupcake stand for Christmas. It is just perfect. And then the cute placemat...I picked that up at Target today (4 of them for the kitchen table) because they are so stinking cute! They are in the Valentines stuff, I love dressing up my table a bit with seasonal/holiday decor. It was between the cupcakes and some cute blue squares with a crocodile on them with a heart in its mouth that said love underneath. Cupcakes obviously won, although it was a tough decision!

The party was a lot of fun. It was up at my brother in laws house, like 5 miles away, straight up redwood. But, I get so nervous driving redwood now that Josh hit a deer. And tonight I almost had my turn. I was cruisin along when not too far ahead of me I see a few somethings run across the road. So I slowed way down and right in front of me 3 more deer ran across. I see one off to the left as I start to go and once I hit the gas it ran across. Luckily I missed it, but the car 2 cars behind me pulled over, so I think they may have hit it! I don't think the insurance company would have been thrilled with us hitting 2 deer in a little over a week. That and 1 deductible is bad enough. ($1000, ouch) And if I wrecked my car it would be worthless so we would have to get a new one. Hmmm, maybe I will go wreck it...lol...

I think I am ready to cut my hair. I always decide things like this very last minute. The girl in my ward that always cuts my hair only does hair on Tuesday (in her home). So how lucky, hopefully I can call her in the morning and she will be able to get me in! :) Because if she can't, I will probably change my mind. I love my hair, and I love it long, but it is getting our of control. It is such a pain to do, and it's just too much. I still want it long, maybe I'll take off 4-6 inches, I'm sure I could spare it, and thin it out and layer it up. I think the last time I got my hair cut was August 06, which I don't think is possible, but it's the last time I can find pictures of a change. No, that can't be right, I'll have to figure it out, my bangs would have grown a lot longer if it has been a year and a half. We'll see, I will let you know what I end up doing!

My week is pretty busy, I babysat today, babysit tomorrow, wednesday, and friday, tomorrow I have an activity days planning meeting and hopefully a haircut, wednesday I am going visiting teaching, thursday is the bookmobile, and friday I may be babysitting more kids than usual...but it's for an on call shift, so it may not happen.

Lastly, I have to post this that I got in an email from my friend Kim because I thought it was so funny, and then I will be done!

Keep in mind this actually really did happen!!!! This is someone who was leaving an insurance claims office.

Okay so this is how I imagine this conversation went:
Walmart Employee: 'Hello 'dis Walmarts, how can I help you?'
Customer: ' I would like to order a cake for a going away party this week.'
Walmart Employee: 'What you want on the cake?'
Customer: 'Best Wishes Suzanne' and underneath that 'We will miss you'.

Too Many Fonts!

How many fonts do you have?  I bet I have more...lol  Everytime I would download a new font I was always so excited to use it!  But when I would go into Photoshop and start playing around I was having trouble finding ones with letters near the end of the alphabet.  The first time I noticed, photoshop only had fonts A-T, and then A-S, A-M, A-K...I had to figure out why it wasn't showing all of my fonts.  So today I opened up fontbook!!  805 FONTS!  Holy Cow!  That is ridiculous.  So I deleted about 300 of them, I think I am down to 508 now!  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, a lot of the fonts were ugly, I must've been asleep while I was downloading those ones.  lol  So I still have quite the font collection, just now it's not as big and I can view them all in photoshop!  Happy Day!  (Until scrapnfonts.com has another $1 sale, then I'm in trouble) ;)

So today was good, kinda long, but good.  9 am was a little rough, but we made it almost on time.  We got there during the opening prayer.  It was kinda full today, the Bishop blessed his baby.  I was a little nervous how primary would be, we kinda have 3 primaries in our ward because there are so many kids (over 200).  So the sunbeams and CTR5's meet in the relief society room, CTR6 and 7's meet in the primary room, and then all the older kids are in th primary room the last hour, like usual.  Pretty crazy.  So Jenica is now a CTR6, I think there are 3 or 4 classes her age...and there are 3 new sunbeam classes, one of which my little Kaitlyn is in!  She seems too little, but she did great!!  I almost cried when she went and sat with her class on the front row like such a big girl with her arms all folded!  After church Josh picked her up and her teacher said she was very good and very smart.  She loved it.

I was just gonna go to bed, but I couldn't miss a day of bloggin...I've done so good this year!  :)  I'm sure I'll have more tomorrow!  I really should try to get to the gym tomorrow, which means I really should go to bed now!

Oh, and how frustrating is this...I spent hours yesterday going through recipes and making my shopping list.  Then I realized it was almost 5 and costco closes at 6, so I hurried out the door...got to costco and realized I had forgotten my flipping list at home!  Grrr.  So I decided I would just get the essentials from costco that I knew we needed, and then stop at Smiths for a couple things to make dinner last night and lunch today (we were having a birthday dinner for Josh's dad tonight).  Anyways, I grabbed some beef and buns for dinner last night to make sloppy joes.  Cooked the beef and some fries and opened the pantry to get the manwich and we were out.  Kinda frustrating.  So I looked up a recipe on allrecipes.com and it was ok...a little too sweet!  Oh well, live and learn!

Saturday is a Special Day...

...it's the day we get ready for Sunday. And holy cow, I have soooo much to do!!

-there's a heap of dishes begging to be washed.
-there's an even bigger heap of laundry calling my name.
-little messes here and there, especially the girls rooms...
-tomorrow church starts at 9am (used to be 11) so I have to get the girls bathed and everything ready tonight because I know the morning will be chaos.
-we need food sooo bad. hopefully the snow stays light so I can do my grocery shopping today. And something is starting to smell in the fridge, guess that's a good indication that it's time to clean out the fridge. :/

And no post is complete without a picture, so here's my latest page! Enjoy!
I suppose I should be putting credit for where I get my stuff. So here goes!! All Alone on a Friday Night...

Ok, not all alone, now that would be nice!  haha  It's just me and the girlies!  Josh is going to some meeting dinner thing (something geeky i'm sure hehe) with some of his friends.  They were going to his favorite place so he reeeeally wanted to go.  It's called Fat's Grill and Pool, but whenever he goes there it comes up on the bank statement online as Fat's Grill and Poo, so that's what we call it.  lol  So I was sitting here deciding what to do with  my evening, obviously nothing too productive just like the rest of my day.  So I browsed through the pay per views and am recording the Nanny Diaries which I'll watch later after I put the girls to bed.  And then I called in an order to Wingers, to go.
Ok now, how many times can a place SCREW UP before you STOP eating there?  Seriously.  I'm embarrassed to admit this was my 3rd time there in the last week...I've gotten some good deals, but w/ the problems, I'm not so sure.
Last Friday my friend Tamara came over w/ the kids and they had a pizza and we both had salads.  When we opened them up they were dinky, about 1/2 the size as usual.  Tamara had a moldy greenish olive looking tomato on hers.  I took it back in later to complain and the manager didn't really seem to care.  So New Years evenin
g I wanted to go out for dinner but Kiki was sick, so Josh suggested I bring the food home.  So I went and picked up another to go order, I have a discount card for free asphalt (mint ice cream, oreo) pie.  Well, I get home with a load of food and NO pie.  How annoying.  Now to tonight, I called the order in, hopped in the car and just hoped that my salad wasn't moldy or small or whatever else could be wrong with it.  I had a $5 card I got when I purchased a gift card for my brother.  I couldn't use it last time because I used the free pie.  So I get to the pickup window and go figure, they couldn't find my order, but the girl re
membered taking it.  So I had to sit there for at least 10 minutes waiting for my food.  I asked a manager looking guy if they keep track of previous orders (they ask for your phone #, so you never know) and told him they forgot our pie last time.  He felt bad about that and having to wait because they lost my order, so he said he'd give me some tonight.
Finally something was done right!!  The salad was HUGE...and I was surprised to see 2 boxes containing the pie!  Woo Hoo!  1 for me, 1 for the kids.  LoL  Too bad they are so big!  And they don't last very well in the freezer.  I guess I will enjoy was I can tonight and be happy!!
I did do something fun today...my Father in Laws 50th Birthday is coming up on Monday and my mother in law is throwing together a surprise party, she was asking for help with invitations and I basically insisted she let me make one digitally.  It was a lot of fun!  She said she'd love to get into it!  She printed them as 4x6's at Costco.
What do you think?  I think I have written enough for today...Maybe I will give you all a break over the weekend, but maybe not!  :)

More about Jammies!

These girls crack me up!!

On Christmas Eve everyone gets new jammies.  This year we spent Christmas Eve with my family up at my parents house.  The drive there was nice...until we were ab
out 10 miles away, a huge snow storm hit!  I was driving, we were on the freeway still...it wasn't too bad.  I got off the freeway and once I turned off the main road I wasn't comfortable driving anymore, so Josh took over.  My parents live in Bountiful, very steep roads.  We couldn't make it up the first hill.  So we turned around and started going over to a more main street because it wasn't as steep!  As we are heading over there we see my brother and his family stuck on the side of the road.  Who knows how long they would've been there if we hadn't seen them because they don't have a cell phone.  So we stopped with them for a minute and left my phone with them.  They ended up having my dad come down in his truck to pick them up.
We got to the less steep road and this is what it was ok...it doesn't look so bad, but it was so slick.  We passed so many cars that were stuck in the ditch, watch a couple cars slide off the road, and even someone that ran into a light post.  Yikes.  I think we went 4-5 mph until we turned off this road.  Then we were in trouble.  The road that would take us strait across to my parents road goes up, down, up, down, up and then down their street.  Yikes.  We couldn't make it up the first up.  We made it about half way up that first hill and then slid over into the ditch.  We backed down the hill and didn't know what to do.  A few minutes later a snow plow came and we quickly got behind it and barely made it over the hill.  Josh had it floored and cranked to the left the whole way up, but the car was quickly drifting to the right.  We didn't remember how up and down the road was until we got to the top, stopped, and looked down the big hill we were about to go down.  The scary thing was that we had to just go as quick as we could so we could make it over the next hill.  It made us nervous since the person in front of us went down and slid into the curb and was stuck.  We made it over the hill and eventually to my parents street, which is pretty steep.  I was scared we wouldn't be able to stop as we were going down the hill.  But as soon as we turned onto their street a snow plow came up it so we were able to drive on a somewhat cleared spot.

That was quite an adventure.  We had a great time with the family.  I guess I will get to the point of what I was starting to write about...Christmas Jammies, if you remember...apparently I didn't.  lol  So, while at my parents house the kids all got Jammies, which they put on and ended up wearing home.  I've already shown you those, but here they are one more time, this time with the boys.  Anyways, so we got home pretty late, after 10 I think...and had to forgo
opening our own jammies, but that was ok.  I put them all wrapped and pretty in the girls doorways so they saw them when they woke up and brought them into our room.  They were sooo excited and thought they were so cute, but wouldn't put them on.  They wanted to wear the ones Nana gave them.  Fine.  So we went about christmas and spent a lot of the day across the street at Josh's parents.  His mom bought all the kids matching Jammies too.  The girls took them and put them on immediately.  When I finally brought them home to put them to bed I begged them to put on the jammies that we had gotten them.  FINALLY!!  I got some great pictures and they were hamming it up for me to take some pictures.  But as soon as I was done with the picture, Kaitlyn was done with the jammies and she went and put different ones on to sleep in!
But I guess she decided she did like them and wore them for the next several nights.  I guess this is long enough...I guess I write too much, too much for my mom to complain it was too long to read.  lol  Sorry mom, hopefully you made it through this one!  Gotta get all the details, since this is pretty much my journal!  :)

I must be sick or something...

No, really. I am sick (head cold..runny nose. sore throat. It sucks) But seriously, 3 days in a row? I'm shocked for myself. lol

So leave it to me to never be satisfied with the first thing I make, in this case, a scrapbook page that was pretty darn cute in the first place. But no, I decided I didn't love it and stayed up way too late last night playing with a new one. That's just me I guess. Maybe I should start getting the pages I make printed so I won't have this "don't like it anymore" problem. Sounds like a good plan to me.

It's only 8 and I can't believe I am awake. I am ready to crawl back into bed because I feel so crappy. I got up at 7 with Jenica, who was great to get up with this morning. Most days she doesn't want to get out of bed, it really ornery, feisty, you name it. But this morning was good. I did have to talk her out of the outfit she picked out though...pink camo pants with a blue striped polo. We found a pink shirt that matched much better. And she was so excited to know that today was show and tell and she was supposed to bring her favorite christmas present. She didn't need to think about that one at all and ran quickly to grab her baby alive wets and wiggles doll.

I got the tree taken down last night. It feels weird in here now, but it's kinda nice because I don't have to squeeze past the tree to get in and out of the computer area. I like having the open space back. I still have lots more Christmas stuff to put away, but I am trying to get everything organized and labeled and even gotten rid of. I think I brought up 5 or 6 bins from the basement and each of them still have stuff in them that I haven't used in several years. I think that means it's time to just get rid of it. And I figured while I am at it, it's time to sort through the kids clothes bins (which there are probably 7 or so bins of, bad, I know) and see if there is anything I am willing to let go of, same with from their dressers and closets. And then the toys. Oh. My. We have waaaay too many toys and the play room I made downstairs is always a disaster. And then "my" stuff. I have a whole heap just calling my name. Most of it is scrapbooking stuff. Most of it brand new and I don't think I will ever use it thanks to digital scrapbooking now. Maybe I will try and sell it or something. Ok, enough talk about my cluttered, unorganized, overflowing with junk basement. I will just say that I have gotten the spring cleaning bug a little early. Can't say that's a bad thing!

I think I am going to go lay back down while I can. Kaitlyn is still sleeping (and so is Josh, lol). Have a happy Thursday!

Pajamas

Ok, this thing is really frustrating me!!  I was going to put up a bunch of pictures from Christmas Eve...but no...it's putting them all in retarded and I give up.  I don't have to time play with is right now, so I guess this will just be about the Pajamas.  Mostly for Suzy, who asked.  lol  So I finally found the fabric online.  It's by a girl named Amy Dott.  I found it at Mormon Handicraft online but it looks like you can only buy it in 1 yard pieces.  So I looked around some more and found it at Alpine Fabrics, and they sell up to a 20 yard piece.  I am sure you could look around more, I just searched on google for Amy Dott.  Anyways, my mom found it at a little quilt shop up in Bountiful or Centerville.  I am sure you could call around too.  The print is called Teach me to walk in the light.

I even just came across a cute print that says I am a child of God, which is the theme for Primary this year.  I want to think of something cute to do with that or the teach me to walk one for the Activity Day girls!  That would be fun!  Anyways...

I have sooo much to get done and it's already after 5...I've been gone most of the day and Josh begged me to get the tree taken down tonight.  And I need to get to bed earlier tonight...it's back to school tomorrow...which means an early morning...no more sleeping in until 10!  lol  I guess I have to work myself into getting up at 5:30 again...maybe the next 2 days of 7am will have me ready to get up early on Monday and get back to the gym!!  I am happy to say that even though I sucked at going to the gym for nearly 2 weeks around christmas, I didn't gain anything...in fact I lost like 3-4 lbs...probably all the muscle I built.

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's already 2008!! Sorry I have been such a slacker at posting lately, not that many people even read my blog, but that's ok. I will try to do better! I hope you all had a great Christmas! I have so many more pictures to post from that day, but my camera only uploaded half my pictures (Christmas Eve) so that's what you get for now. We went to my parents on Christmas Eve and after playing, dinner, the nativity, and presents, Santa came and visited the kids. My Dad missed the whole thing because "he was in the bathroom". At least that's what the kids are all saying. It was great, the oldest grandchild there was 6 and the kids were soooo excited. Some day they will find out the truth about where Papa really was, but for now, it's okay! Jenica and Kaitlyn are sporting their new jammies that Nana made. I will need to get a better picture of the material because it is sooo cute! It has I love primary, the salt lake temple w/ a bride and groom, the young women colors/values, a little girl being baptized, probably more, but I'd have to go get them to see. Then on the shirt is the little temple, bride, and groom ironed on and the girls names. The boys jammies match, they are blue...I'll have to post a picture.

This is already seeming really boring to me, so hopefully it's not too bad. lol I'm still really tired. I think I went to bed at 2:30 or 3 last night (waiting for Josh to get home, he stayed at his brothers for a bit after our little party). I am really paranoid now because he had to work on Saturday to finish up a project and got home at 12:30 that night, but he hit a deer on the way home. We have seen so many deer lately and it sucks because it was the only nice car we have. Anyways, he got home last night and we went to bed, then at 4, Kiki woke up and she was having a hard time breathing, crying, coughing (barking). I think she has croup. Poor girl. It was aweful! We got her calmed down and then she got in bed with us, and I don't think I slept much after that. She was breathing so loud, kicking the blankets off, kicking me, kicking me more. LoL! I got up at 9 and went to smiths to get a few groceries and some juice and popsicles for her because we read that can help. I might call the dr later today if she still sounds bad. If they are even open today.

Today, January 1, it feels so weird. New years always feel a little weird to me at first. Today is also my Grandma's birthday. So every new years eve at midnight, I whisper "Happy Birthday Grandma" and hope she knows I think about her! She passed away 18 years ago. It's so weird that it has been that long ago. Anyways, this has turned into pure randomness, so I will stop rambling...It's 10:30, I should probably go get the kids up!
