Anyways, this morning I had a Dr appt! I was excited to see what Dr L had to say about the discovery of the twins! And I was excited to actually get to talk to the dr because all the info I have is what the ultrasound tech told us or what I have read online! So anyways, I am always anxious about my blood pressure and peeing on the strip that shows if there is protein in my urine (because I had toxemia with Kiki). My blood pressure was 100/70...the lowest I have ever seen it, and my urine was great. The nurse said I was down 2 lbs from last time...but the dr wasn't too concerned because I am eating and keeping things down...I just need to work a little harder on eating more, even though it's hard with the limited amount of space in my belly! And finally...I am 22 weeks and I measured 28 today. He was also able to pick up both heart beats because they were different. I think he said one was in the 120's and one was in the 150's. It was weird to heard such a difference, but he said they are both within range.
He said the ultrasound looked great. The boys were exactly the same size, and all their parts and such were developed properly. He said there were 2 sacs, 1 placenta, which means Identical, which means more chance of complications, so they will monitor me closer than with a single baby. He said one of the biggest risks is premature labor/birth...my goal is to make it to 36 weeks. We'll see how the summer goes as far as bed rest depending on if I start showing signs of any complications that are more typical with twins. Here's a picture of me today, I felt like I needed a more accurate one because the one of me and Aimee below looks small...because I was squatted down and hunched over a little! Look how big I really am. I am so scared of how big I am going to get! Yikes!
Just a few pictures to share from the last couple days! On Saturday we attended my Nephew, Miller's 3rd birthday party. We went up to my brothers place and the kiddos swam and ran around and had a great time! Here is Miller, he wouldn't smile for me...
This kid is soooo funny! Just to give you an idea, he was handed a box from baby gap (where him mom works). Apparently he knew what was in it. He immediately pushed it away and said "That not mine". Then they opened the box and showed him the cool clothes in it. Once he got a glance, he pushed it away and said "That not for me" It was so funny! Then he opened a present from his grandparents and as soon as he saw a pile of clothes he did the same thing. Pushed it away and said "no, that not mine" Apparently 3 year old little boys don't care about getting clothes for their birthday! lol And below is Kaitlyn, Jeni, and my neice Paige enjoying some popsicles.
After the party we stopped by the hospital to see Aimee's new little boy! He is adorable! They named him Matthew. She had him on Friday the 13th. That's good luck if you ask me...since that's my lucky number/day. (my birthday is april 13th, anniversary is october 13th and we even got married on a Friday)!I didn't get any pictures on Fathers day, I didn't really even think about it.
Yesterday was a fun, yet long and exhausting day. Me and my mother in law took the girls to the pool up in Bountiful, because it is the best pool ever! And we've been promising the kids since the last couple weeks before school was out! They refer to it as the pirate ship pool! It was so much fun! We stopped and picked up lunch and took it to Josh on the way up, and then when we got to Bountiful we went to Panda Express and got some lunch, then we headed over to the pool. I think we got there about 2pm. Here are the girls jumping in the pool!
The deepest part is only 3 ft deep and then it goes to 2 ft and then 1 ft and then walks out on the other side. The "big" pools are all indoors, so you don't really have to worry about deep deep water. At first we were right there with the girls, but we couldn't keep up with them swimming all over the place. We took them inside for a little bit and when we came back out, Laurie and I ended up sitting on the edge of the pool and watching the girls. Then we got up and ended up in some lounging chairs watching them jump in and get out, jump in and get out, running/swimming all over the place. I am so not like that just to sit back and watch the kids in the pool, but this one was so great, we were so close incase they needed us, and there were lifeguards everywhere!!

Here's the fun pirate ship that has a couple slides off of it!
Here is Kaitlyn showing me how much fun she was having!
I love this picture! Talk about sisterly love!!
I guess that's it!! Sorry for the novel! I still have pictures to post of the girls re-painted room and the new playroom downstairs! I promise I will get to it someday! :/ Now I need a nap before I have to frost cupcakes and get to enrichment!!

That pool looks awesome! Way less crowded than the lehi pool :) Cute pictures of your girls!
I agree, that pool looks awesome. I like reading your stories on your blog even if you've already told them to me because I miss alot of our conversations due to interruptions (a.k.a. little children)! This way I actually get all of the details! Lunch was fun--thanks for being such a great friend and person--I love you lots!
I love your novel-y blog posts. :o) I'm so happy to hear that everything is going wonderfully with your twins. Just take it easy and relax... whatever is going to happen with labor will. It will all work out in the end. :o) NOW, on to the cupcakes! HOLY DELICIOUS! Thanks for bringing some by for me last night. I stayed late and chatted with the girls. Max and I have already eaten a cupcake today and Max is begging me for more. They're almost too pretty to eat. I SAID ALMOST! Have a fun day!
I like your novelblogs too. It's very entertaining! You're right, you are big. :) It looks like you are carrying really high. Identitcal, huh? That's awesome! I hope that everything continues to go well and that you make it to 36 weeks.
The Bntfl pool does look like fun. I wish that I could take Daphne to fun places. Hopefully when I feel good there will still be a bit of summer fun left to have!!
Tell Aimee that Matthew is adorable!!
Kari, next time you go to that pool I want an invite. I think Alayna would love it! Also, your looking great! Do you want me to email you picts of Ange right before she went in? To give you an idea she was 54" total around! Good luck. Anyways, good luck eating. Your pools pictures really were so cute!
That's exciting to hear your twins are identical - so it was an act of nature :)
I can't even imagine what carrying twins would be like in terms of size. So you've only got about 14 weeks to go - wahooo. Did you have any pre-term labor with your single pregnancies? It's going to be fun to follow this to the end - I hope you keep bloggin often :)
What a great pool!! We really need a wading type pool close by.
Congrats on your twins! Email me about the insurance at Lauraall at aol dot com. What doctor and hospital are you going to be at. I still volunteer at Imed (the new hospital). If you are going there I could be able to say hi, if you end up delivering earlier (hopefully you won't. Twins are awesome. I would be more than happy to help in any other way you need. I had two older kids (as you have seen) when I had my twins too.
