Lake Tahoe

Child-Free trips are fabulous! Yesterday Josh and I left all the kiddos behind and headed to beautiful Lake Tahoe. The drive was long, and it didn't help that we didn't leave until after 1pm, but that's ok! The drive was alright...I drove most of the way and let Josh take the last 20-30 miles because my hands were starting to hurt.

We didn't get to do anything yesterday, but today we finally ventured out of the hotel around noon and got some lunch. I had a yummy chicken caesar salad. It was huge..the bowl they brought it to me in looked like a big serving bowl.

We walked across the street from the hotel and we were suddenly in California. I thought that was funny. We walked around a bit and then we decided to drive up the CA side of the lake. We stopped at a little beach and walked around in the water for a bit. It was warmer than I expected. I got a couple pictures of Josh and then asked him to take a picture of me. I turned around to take a few steps away from him and I heard a "plunk" sound in the water. I turned around and the camera was in the water! He was holding it by the strap and it broke off the camera, sending it into the water. I wanted to cry!! Especially since we headed up to Emerald bay. It was beautiful and all I had was my almost dead iphone. So at least we were able to get a few pictures with that. We kept driving and found a big area of cabins. We drove those roads up as high as we could until we couldn't get any higher. It was so pretty up there. On the way back to the hotel we stopped at a little drive in and got some huge ice cream cones. We will have to go back tomorrow and get another.

Not sure what we will do tomorrow for sure, but we have some ideas. Josh wants to go Kayaking or get a sail boat, but I would rather go on a "cruise" of sorts and let someone who knows what they are doing take us out on the lake. We found a cool looking sail boat cruise, so hopefully if we do that the camera will be working or I will be sad. We were also looking into maybe horseback riding. There are some hikes I would like to do also!

Well, I am starving and we are heading out for some sushi! Hope it's good...I've never had any exept for nasty costco sushi...Enjoy a few pics from our day today!

(I miss my kids like crazy (this is the first time I have been away from my bubbas ever) and am so grateful to my mother in law who watched the kids yesterday until this afternoon, and my parents who will have them until sunday night!! Thanks so much you guys!!

Bubbas

I just pulled a bunch of picture off my iphone last night and loved these ones! The look on Julians face (right) is so cute in the first pic! And I find it strange how much bigger he looks than Jonathan in pictures...he's a little larger, but not that much!

Graduation

Today my little Kiki graduated from preschool! Here she is at the beginning of their little program! They did a few nursery rhymes and sang us a few songs. She did a great job!

I just can't believe that this fall she will be in kindergarten! It seems like Jenica was just graduating from preschool...and here she is...going into 2nd grade! Wow!

I'm so proud of you Kaitlyn! I love you!

Habbies

Today Joshy took a trip to NPS and scored big time! His favorite flavor of chips were discontinued [fiery habanero doritos aka habbies] quite a while ago...I looked everywhere, even online to see if I could special order them for him or something!

So he found the mexican version of his favorite snack and bought 2 cases of them...$60 worth of chips for only $16...

Losing Teeth!

They're gone! They're both gone! Sunday night Jeni got elbowed in the face by my nephew and it hit her tooth. It got really loose and she finally got it out last night. She was so excited!
And then tonight she was managed to get the other one out...it was sticking straight forward so I told her to give it a try...it took quite a bit of wobbling and lots of bleeding. Blah. But she got it out.

little houdini

The other day I had to take the sheet off the mattress in the 2nd crib so I could put on a little mattress cover to make it a little softer since it was pretty hard. A few weeks ago we put the boys in their own cribs...just because they were becoming pretty cramped in the one. They still slept fine, but it didn't look very comfortable. So I had taken the bumper pad off and didn't tie it around the back part of the crib. I guess I should have, because when Jonathan woke up from his nap this afternoon he had a little fun...not quite sure how he got over the bumper pad, but this is how I found him!
Silly Boy!!
He was pretty proud of himself!

almost a 2nd grader...

Last friday josh and I went to the 1st grade parents program at the school for Jenica. I can't believe there are only 7 days of school left and then my [baby] will be onto the 2nd grade. The kids worked very hard and sang us several songs! It was fantastic! I was a baby and cried...I was one proud mama. Here are the kids before the performance started.
Afterward we were invited back to her classroom for refreshments! Here we are with Jenica, I can't believe I left the house looking like that...no makeup...yikes.
And here is Jenica and her favorite teacher...Miss R!
Here is my favorite song from the performance. It was great!

Kaitlyn

Yup...I am horrible at blogging! I can't believe we are already half way through May!! It's so weird to think back a year ago...I was 4 1/2 months pregnant and still didn't know I was having twins! On May 31 I got the shock of my life and it hasn't been the same since. Definitely not complaining...I love my babies so much! It's just funny how quickly things can change!

So, really I am here to write about a little Kaitlyn funny that happened tonight before I forget it!

As we were finishing dinner tonight, Jenica was talking about school, saying that pretty soon she won't see Miss R anymore because she is moving to 5th grade. So I told her that she was moving on too...to spanish immersion. She raised her arms all excited! Then she told Josh and I that pretty soon she will be teaching us how to say stuff in Spanish. I started saying some things that I remember from spanish class when I was in high school. I told her to say "me llamo Jenica". So she said it a few times and was really excited. Then Kaitlyn said "me llamo...wait...how do you say Kaitlyn in spanish...???" It was hilarious. It took her a second to realize her name would be the same. Cute girl...couldn't help but giggle!!

And while I am talking about my cute Kiki, the poor girl had such an awful evening yesterday! Around 2 she started telling me her tummy hurt when she was sitting. She went in her room and after awhile I went to check on her and she was asleep. She is not one to take a nap...and she slept for over 3 hours. When she woke up we went to the store and she was crying and holding her lower belly saying it hurt so bad. It hurt to sit, it hurt to walk, and if I touched it she said it really hurt...so when I got home I called the dr's office that thankfully has an after hours clinic each night until 10pm. They wanted to see her right away to make sure it wasn't anything too serious (ie her appendix). It took me a little bit to get out of the house. I fed the babies and put them to bed and my mother in law came and stayed with the rest of the kids while I took Kiki in. First thing they had her do was pee in a cup. Turns out that was all they needed to check, she has a very bad bladder infection. So she is on some major antibiotics. She is already feeling better today, so that is good, but now I wonder how on earth a 5 year old gets this!?

muy orgullosa de esta chica

I am so very proud of Jenica! Last month I applied to have her put in the spanish immersion program at school. It begins in 2nd grade and they are in it for the rest of elementary school, so through 6th grade! They take 28-35 students. You have to apply, and then the students are selected on a first come first serve basis, but there is also a screening process to see if the child is ready for it! We were the 14th girl in line, so I knew that if she passed the screening stuff she was pretty much in.

Yesterday I got a call from the school and she got it! She is so excited and I am so excited for her! She is such a smart girl! I am so proud of her! :)
(title translation: so proud of this girl, although I don't know how acurate it is...I used an english to spanish translator I found online...)

Fun in the Sun!

These pictures were taken last week, but we have had some very nice weather lately! It has been lovely!! I was grilling some burgers outside and took the boys out on the grass to play. They loved it! it was so nice, and we got to try out their new hats! :)

Family Night Fun!

Monday night we had a lot of fun! My sister in law Shelley invited us over for dinner and then we went over to their church parking lot and let the kids have some fun. They had borrowed a couple little 4wheelers and a little go-kart. They had so much fun!! Jenica couldn't get enough of it!! I took a bunch of pictures, but it was getting dark and the rest were too far away to even see her. So here is her action shot.

I asked her to take me around with her a couple times!! That didn't last too long though, I slowed her down quite a bit and she told me I needed to get off. It was a little scary trusting my 7 year old to drive me around. At least my weight did slow her down a little! Probably not the best idea, but I took a picture while she was driving!!
Kiki rode around with Josh for quite a bit. She loved it too, but she had a hard time concentrating on what she was doing, she was more interesting in watching the other kids driving that she would lose focus and go off course. So, she got to have daddy with her the whole time.
And then her Uncle rode around on the go kart with her because all the kids were having trouble remembering which pedal was gas and which was the brake.

I got a little video of her driving it, but it was too dark, pretty much you can hear Jeff screaming and yelling slow down, slow down!! lol Hopefully we will get to go do it again! The kids can't wait!
